Mahou Arms

I have to start by saying that as I write this Mahou Arms is a game that is in very early access. What I have played of the game is all that is available right now and you are looking at 2 to 3 hours of gameplay so keep that in mind. To be fair to the devs, they have listed many features that are “coming” so the fact that people are getting mad at them for this game being so short is really harsh in my opinion. If you understand going in that this is basically a demo, you will have a much better time with it.

Aliens, It Is Always Aliens!

Mankind is under threat from an alien invasion from a force that is known as The Locks. The story of Mahou Arms has a military force called, GARDA that is fighting back against the Aliens now that they know the secret to fighting them and that secret is magic girls! Magic girls who just so happen to be very cute.

The story has the premise of a sci-fi anime and I like that. I think what is here so far is the bones for something that could be really cool. While I do like the story that we have so far, I must admit I am very interested to see just where they are going to take it. While this is a “lewd” game I do feel that they might have been better going for sexy than straight-up hentai.

Hacking, Slashing, And Humping

The gameplay of Mahou Arms is a style that I always like. This is a fast-paced hack and slash style of game. You go from one enemy to the next using a few different attacks to take them down. You have a few different attacks at your disposal and mixing these up does make the combat much more fun. Some will argue that you can just keep smashing the same button over and over again, but it does force you to change your attacks sometimes.

As I write this, you only have two main missions and one side mission to do. There is also a couple of hentai scenes that you can download as well if you want. The full version of the game does promise a base building aspect and more girls to play as so I do feel that the final version of the game will be far more fleshed out.

The Emotion Engine

The game moves at a fast-paced and I liked the visuals of what is on offer here. The sci-fi setting is pretty good and while things are very basic, I will say that I am sure this was done so that they could keep the game moving at a quicker pace. It is a trade-off that I for one feel is worth it. The hentai scenes that you can add to the game are ok, but to me, they feel a bit out of place in a game like this.

Pros:

• The hack and slash gameplay is fun
• I liked how fast-paced the game was
• It is very easy to get into
• You can change up your attacks for some fun combo
• The stuff that is going to be added to the game sounds interesting

Cons:

• The game is far from finished
• I am not sure this needed any XXX content
