Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

As the gaming industry was entering a new decade, it was clear to many that a new titan had joined the battle for supremacy, with an eye on taking full control of the gaming sphere and bending said sphere to its will. This was the MOBA genre of gaming. This genre would only grow in popularity over the last ten years and give us some of the most brilliant and beloved multiplayer games of a generation. One such game that tried to deliver that experience on mobile devices was Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

This game plays like many of the top-performing MOBA games on the market today. Games such as League of Legends, DOTA2 and Smite. These games led the charge on PC, so this title looked to place a stake in the mobile market.

MOBA on the go

At the time of release in 2016, it would be fair to say that there was no clear market leader in MOBA mobile games. So this was a great idea to give players action on the go and thankfully, it was carried out with a good amount of success. The game features mechanics that are commonplace in these games such as laning, jungling, item builds, hero roles, abilities, skins and other aspects that help players feel right at home when playing.

The great thing about this game is the pickup and play style that has been developed. The matchmaking is rapid and the games are small, quick and action-packed. Five players are placed on each team and instead of a calculated and methodically planned approach to the game, this title requires fast and frantic decisions to be successful consistency. So you’ll need to adapt your style. There is also a great deal of variety of heroes and their abilities too. Plus a surprising amount of back story and lore considering the scope of mobile games in general. This game also seems to buck the trend with visuals too as the graphics are a step above a lot of the games on offer within the game field.

Then, heaping more praise onto this well crafted MOBA, the mobile controls and adapted well to fit the platform while still maintaining all the fun and ease of use from PC titles of this nature. The only real issues with this title are linked to the play to win culture that has taken over the player base, making it a hard environment to inhabit for players who don’t wish to invest in the product at all.

Frantic, Fast-Paced but still familiar

This game in the light of 2020 has far more component competition than when it first arrived on the market and when compared, it perhaps doesn’t have the same shine as it once did. However, this is still a fun experience for all MOBA fans that want a competent and familiar experience that allows for quick, pick up and play fun.
