Dragon City is one of the more popular world building/creature raisin games on Android right now and despite it having a really cutesy appearance. Dragon City is no kids game and has far more going on that many people realize.
Become A Dragon King
Ok so maybe not a dragon king, but the overall point of Dragon City is that you need to breed and raise dragons and then look after them and make sure they are ok. It is actually far more in-depth than the Disney style visuals suggest and even though this looks like it is a game that is aimed at little kids. The recommended age for this is actually 18 and anyone younger needs to have their parents permission to play.
Raising Your Dragons
Before you can start to train your dragons you will need to breed and raise them. This is actually quite easy to do and depending on how you go about this will result in what kind of dragon you get. As well as feeding your dragons, you are going to need to make sure that they are trained so that they can level up, become stronger and learn skills that are going to help them when they get into battle.
Fight Dragons, Fight!
The fighting in Dragon City is actually very straightforward and pretty simplistic. To be fair this is the norm in games like this, but I think the fighting would have been much better had there been a little bit more skill involved in the actual fighting aspect of the game. As it stands the fighting aspect of the game kind of feels like it is there just to try and make you spend a little money to level your dragons up better.
Is Dragon City Free To Play?
As this is a mobile game, you may have some suspicions that Dragon City is going to want your hard earned money. Now you can actually play a whole lot of Dragon City without actually spending a single penny and that is great, but there are a lot of in-app purchases here. These work by letting you level up faster, having your dragons hatch faster and so on. These in-app purchases are not really necessary, but they do make the game progress a heck of a lot faster.
Dragons Use Social Media To Evolve!
One thing that Dragon City does really well is have connectivity to Facebook and Google Play. By getting your friends into the game, you cannot just play with each other and keep an eye on what each other is doing. You can also get gems that can help you progress through the game faster which is really neat. They also give you chances to earn gems by doing surveys and watching videos. This is actually a great way to get some gems if you are not into the whole Facebook thing.
Dragon City for Android is a very charming game. It is free to play, but thanks to the awesome art style it really does hook you right from the start. Hatching and raising dragons so that they can become powerful warriors is actually a lot of fun. The in-app purchases can be annoying, but they are no worse than what other games in this style do. If you like dragons and games where you can raise creatures, Dragon City is well worth checking out.
