Tentacles Thrive

Look you do not have to be a rocket scientist to get what kind of game Tentacles Thrive is! This is a very, NSFW hentai game that has lots of hardcore hentai, but it is also aiming to be a solid game in its own right too. One thing I do want to mention is that while I am checking out the standard NSFW version of this game there is another version out there called, Tentacles Thrive Standard Battle which does away with the hentai.

Lilith The Tentacle Queen

There is a story here, but I really could not get my head around it. That is not really a knock on the story as from the gist of what I got it sounds pretty interesting. The basics are that there is a human Royal called Lilith and she makes clothes from this very special kind of material. Well, this material is actually dead tentacle monsters and as a result, they mistake her for one of them and make the beautiful Lilith their queen! So yeah, Tentacles Thrive does have a story and it is an interesting premise, but it was just a tad too crazy for me.

2.5 Double D’s

The presentation of the game is quite impressive. I like the art style that they have gone for here and the sprite work is quite well done. They say that the game is a 2.5D game and that is probably the best way to describe the visual style of the game. Each of the tentacle monsters looks great. As far as the actual tentacle hentai goes, it is not really my cup of tea. However, I do know good sprite work when I see it and if you like the way that the girls look and the way that the tentacle monsters look, I think you will be happy with what they have done in Tentacles Thrive in that regard.

Fight!

The combat system is one that at first, I could not get my head around. The game really could do with an in-depth tutorial that teaches you everything. As a result, the first couple of matches can be a tad frustrating as the game does not hold your hand. Your squad is going to be randomly generated from the creatures that you have and you need to use hearts that you feed them so they can attack. There is a fair bit of strategy here, but it just takes quite a lot of work to figure it all out.

If you are on the lookout for a hardcore hentai game then I think that if you can get past the rather cryptic difficulty of the start, you will have a good time here. Tentacles Thrive is a game that has clearly had a lot of love put into it and that does shine. Those who seem to like the game are those that were willing to stick with it and really learn to play it.

• There is a version that removes the hardcore hentai

• The learning curve is very steep
• The tentacle thing is not really for me
