Bullet Requiem

Today I am taking a look at Bullet Requiem which is a 2D shooter/action game that is very much NSFW. One of the most interesting things about this game is that there is so little information about it online. I am not sure why this is the case, but this is something of a hidden game that you have to do some real digging around in order to find anything about it out which made me even more interested to play it.

Demons, It Is Always Demons!

The story of the game is one that I wish I could tell you more about. You see, this is a game that is all in Japanese so I had to fumble my way through all of the dialogue that Bullet Requiem through my way. The basics of the story are that you play as this girl who is called, Shonheit who is part of a society that is all about kicking demon ass.

The plot of the game from what I could dig up is about you saving a town and the women in it from demons who want to have their wicked way with them. As a premise, I get it and think it is cool I just wish I could find a translation out there as it does sound interesting.

2D Bouncy Goodness

The visuals of the game are very polished. The heroine that we play as is smoking hot and the fact you can play as her with her boobs out is a nice bonus. They sure do bounce around a lot as you do some platforming though! There is a handful of levels and each one has its own theme and look. I really liked the background details in the levels and as far as the enemy designs go these are quite varied and gross which is what I would expect from a game like this. My only complaint about the way Bullet Requiem looks is actually to do with the animations. It is hard to explain, but there is just something a little off and robotic about the way Shonheit moves around the screen.

Let’s Go, Demon Hunting

The gameplay on offer here is decent enough. It is a 2D action game where you move from area to area killing as many demons as you can. It is very easy to get to grips with and the game is pretty good at giving different weapons to use as you go. I liked how there were a dash and a super jump as this lets you play the game at a rather quick pace which I did enjoy.

The thing is, as I cannot read Japanese, I am not 100 percent sure exactly what I am doing and what the stuff I am getting out of chests is either. I was still able to get through the game, but I feel that I would have gotten much more out of it if I knew for sure what was going on.

Pros:

• The main character is topless as she kills demons
• The actual gameplay is pretty fun
• I liked the different guns
• The game has fantastic 2D sprites including large bosses
• It did not take too long to get through

Cons:

• I could not find any English translation for this at all
• The animations of the main character can be a tad odd
