If you want a visual novel game with interesting and strong gay characters, Camp Buddy is the game for you. This is a game that is very popular and it does have a free demo that you can play which I recommend you check out. What I think is very interesting about this game is that the writing is so strong that many people may come for the sex, but I bet they stay for the interesting characters and their relationships.

We All Remember Our First Love

The story of the game at first is pretty sweet. The main protagonist is called Keitaro a young guy who is going away to summer camp with his friend. While here, Keitaro is going to meet some new people, four of them to be exact and one of these is going to be his first love. It sounds pretty cheesy, but Camp Buddy is a game that despite the hardcore XXX stuff does actually have a lot of heart to it.

The game has four characters that you mainly will be interacting with and each of these characters will send the story down a different path. Not only does the story have different paths, but each path also has a good and a bad ending, so there is a lot of replay value in this game.

The Boys Of Summer!

Admit it right now, you now have the awesome 80s hit, Boys of Summer in your head! Anyway, this is a visual novel game that also looks like a million bucks. It has a very slick look to it and I liked the way that each of the four boys you are trying to get with has their own look. Now granted, these are very stereotypical character designs such as Natsumi who is the more serious type, and Youchi who is more the loud party animal type.

Camp Buddy has some very hardcore sex scenes going on and you may be shocked at just how graphic these are. They are not censored which is a nice touch and they are done very well.

Summer Loving

The four characters that you will be talking with throughout the game are Youchi, Natsumi, Hunter, and Hiro. Each one looks different and has their own personality. In the first part of the game, you will be talking to them all, making decisions as you go. Around the halfway point of the game, you will lock in a choice and you will be on a more character-centric path for a particular guy.

If you have played any visual novel game before, you will know what this game is all about right from the start. You read some story, you learn about the characters and you give the right response. There is a fair bit of difference to the way the stories can play out so you do have a reason to play the game multiple times.

Pros:

• Each of the four boys you can romance feels unique
• I liked the “first love” story that the game told
• The XXX content is not censored
• You can get a free demo
• The artwork here is very slick and stylish

Cons:

• It does not bring anything new to the visual novel genre
• If boys are not your thing, you may not get as much out of this game
