Laura, your beautiful bride-to-be, has been kidnapped and it's up to you, Van, to rescue her from the clutches of the evil Galam. Together with the Cosmic Hunters, you set out to retrieve Laura and the pendant Galam is set on possessing. This CD-ROM product is composed of over 20 animated cinema screens to help the story unfold. It's also a quest laden with equipment and monsters galore!
This RPG had several addicting qualities. While the game remains your typical quest filled with sub-plots and mysteries, I found the rewards of Cosmic Fantasy 2 to be much more enjoyable to reach than typical cart games. I don't know if this is a trend for me, but I liked Cosmic Fantasy and the CD fluff it delivered.
This game delivers the sounds and graphic quality you'd expect from a CD game. The RPG quest is a long one loaded with special items and sub-quests. The many cinema screens help to colorfully animate the story. This CD game remains good, but still conventional to its game playing approach.
Of course, the music in this game is really cool. It's a CD so that's to be expected. The game play is strictly role-playing and has plenty of items to buy and information to locate. The graphics are good and the cinema displays show off the abilities of the TTI CD-ROM developers. The quest moves at a quick pace as well.
Cosmic Fantasy could use a refresher course in how to make the gamer's life easier. Awkward controls and average graphics are just not going to cut it in the skeptical world of video games. A few years ago, it would have been a great title, with tons of secrets and challenges. Now, it needs spunk and atttitude.

Cosmic Fantasy II by Working Designs is a massive RPG on CD for the standard TurboGrafx-16 CD System. As Van, teenage hero of the Do-na-kri Galaxy's Planet Idea, you lead a valiant party on a quest to save your sweetheart and your beloved planet from the evil machinations of Galam, a totally bad-news dude. Vile monsters and evil magicians look cool in this game, but they play for keeps.
At first, Van suffers the RPG curse: no experience, no magic. But when our hero finally learns what's what, it sounds like he'll have the ability to bust up to 25 Magic Effects. If he needs backup, he'll be able to call on his Psychic Hunter travelling companions. They'll have 15 mind-blowing Psychic Effects, including some especially nasty sounding stuff, like fire whirlpools and blasts of sub-freezing air.
Van and his crew will also have access to standard gear. Weapons include Swords, Axes, Wands, and Spears. Magic Gems and Medicinal Herbs will be among your tools. Guards, such as Shields and Magic Cloaks, will protect you, but building up Hit Points is a must.
This game knocked the socks off PC. Engine CD role-players in Japan. It features some truly fine animated, Japanese-style graphics. The lands of Idea cover extensive territory, as you might expect with a CD game. You'll probably have to set aside mucho gameplaying time fa this baby. This CD ought to satisfy anyone's cosmic fantasy.
A much overlooked game that deserves a second chance. The battle screens are very old-school, still mon sters, but the overall graphic package remains noteworthy. Excellent story and character interaction make this a must-play for RPG fans. The best of the WD Turbo CD games.
