Just like the FIFA series has dominated our consoles and desktops, the NBA series has also dominated our world for gamers not accustomed to the game of football. Once again, the game induces us into a coma of virtual reality that helps us appreciate the reality depicted in the game. It is as if you are taken to the basketball court and have control over the game.
Just as expected with any other series release, there are improvements you can enjoy in the game that will make your purchase or download of the PC version worthwhile. So, sit back and understand why NBA 2K16 is worthy of the space in your gaming storage.
What is New in NBA 2K16?
The NBA franchise has created many series under the franchise and it may be confusing what to get if you haven’t been an avid follower and collector of the series. Well, it is easy to assume to go for the latest version however, the sensible question is why not get the 2K15 version over the 2K16?
I agree, most people enjoyed NBA 2K15 but NBA 2K16 carries the day because improvements included scanning your face and being integrated into the game which is a great way of being the game. That sense of pride coupled with the formidability of being incorporated in your favourite NBA team put you playing side by side with James Harden or the famous Stephen Curry. If not, you still get to showcase your skills against them.
The New Takes to the Game.
Coming from the backdrop of NBA 2K15, players are accustomed to changes especially in the graphics of the game. NBA 2K16 features the same graphics to its predecessor’s. The graphics may be the same but the player’s physic has been scanned better revealing more details in the players as compared to NBA 2K15.
Behavioural characters of players have also been captured in this version helping you immerse deeper into the reality of connecting with your favourite NBA star. For instance, Stephen Curry's demeanour of standing on the free-throw line and chewing on his mouthguard is evidently captured in NBA 2K16.
More changes expected by the fans are still apparent in the game. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is well improved to give you a better response during your offensive tactics. Twelve new teams have also been added to the version giving you a wider array of options to choose from. The controls have also undergone some changes with the pass and low-post habits we have been accustomed could leave you disappointed during gameplays as it is something you have to get used to.
My Grounded Opinion
When compared to the previous versions, I am taken away with the changes in gameplay that have resulted in a truer to life simulation experience. As it was easy to bypass AI defenders, it is no longer possible to bypass the current defenders because of the improved AI.
Pros and Cons
- Better AI to challenge your skills
- Improved gameplay
- Streamlined controls
- MyCareer mode can sometimes lag
