Price For Freedom: Avarice

Price For Freedom: Avarice is a game that a friend of mine suggested I try out. Those who have an interest in adult-based lewd games that are not just high on the sex, but also have actual gameplay to them will be in for a treat here. This is one of the more impressive adult games I have played recently and it is actually a fine RPG in its own right.

I am sure that many of you out there are fans of the webcomic, Price For Freedom. It is a series until I played this game that I was ignorant of if I am honest. However, my buddy who recommended this game swears that it is a fantastic companion piece to it. Set in the region of the webcomic, it features a new cast of characters and adventures for you to go on. Now as someone who knows nothing about the actual webcomic. I found the story to be rather interesting, taking my hero on quests, getting it on with as many things as I could was all good in my book.

It helps that Price For Freedom: Avarice is a great looking game. I was very impressed with the visuals and the sound here. It has a top down view, but all of the sprites are drawn with a lot of love. I liked how clear and easy to look at everything was. As far as the sex/hentai stuff goes. This is also done very well and features some hot and steamy 2D artwork.

Look At The Size Of Those….. Gameplay Mechanics

We live in a day and age where fans of hentai and lewd games, in general, want more than just nonstop sex. In this regard, I feel that what they have done with this game is very impressive. If you took out all of the sex, you would still have a very well made RPG on your hands here. For example, you have lots of areas to explore and there is that classic RPG exploration where you go to new areas, talk to people, get quests and so on. The progression system and item system is done well. It drives you forward, makes you feel like you are progressing, but at the same time, it is not over-complex.

One of the most surprising aspects of the game for me was the combat. This is some great stuff and the turn based nature of it certainly keeps you on your toes. Look the hentai stuff is great and all, but having an actual game to play really does keep you invested and paying attention to what you are doing.

Even though I am ignorant of the series, Price For Freedom: Avarice is a game that I have had a great deal of fun with. As I write this review, the game is being regularly updated so there could be many new things added by the time you play it. Still, I found there to be a ton of gameplay on offer here and it is certainly a game I am going to come back to when new content is added.

Pros:

• The 2D presentation is great
• I liked how much fun the questing was
• The combat has some real strategy to it
• Even without the lewd content, this would be a decent game
• I am sure fans of Price For Freedom will love this even more

Cons:

• Maybe you would get more out of it if you are a fan of the webcomic
• Some of the English translation still needs some work
