A fresh new face in the world of looter shooters, Project Magnum comes from the same studio that gave us some of the most endearing MMORPG experiences of the past decade. A title that puts cooperation and stylish gameplay above all else, Project Magnum is here to look cool and blow stuff up!
Developed by NAT Games and published by Nexon, the game delivers four-player action in a PvE setting against formidable foes and stylish action ala Platinum Games. If you’re a fan of games with astonishing mobility options or just looter shooters in general, there are a lot of things about Project Magnum that will definitely be right up your alley.
Shoot Your Way To Success
Perhaps you’ve heard of Nexon before. The company is one of the big names in Korea when it comes to online games, with a catalog that includes MapleStory and the South Korean release of Final Fantasy XIV. Now, the company seems to be taking a different approach to online multiplayer with Project Magnum.
At first glance, the game looks simply stunning. Players will have to form squads of up to four participants to face off against hordes of enemies. However, the true beauty of the game lies in its fluid animations and freestyle moving options. Imagine if Warframe was a looter shooter like Borderlands and you get Project Magnum.
Though the specifics of the game are still in the early stages of development, there’s already enough info about the game to see where Nexon might want to steer the project in the near future. For example, the game is exclusively PvE, meaning that cooperation over competition seems to be ingrained in the developing process of Project Magnum.
Other than its fluid gameplay, the game also boasts some impressive visuals that truly justify the leap to the new generation of hardware.
In terms of visuals, the game offers a nice mixture of realistic and stylized elements. In fact, the game has been touted as an attempt at creating a more mature looter shooter experience that will appeal to both fans of traditional looters and those who want something a bit more serious.
In order to achieve this feat, the developers made sure to avoid any unnecessary gimmicks and focus on the core aspects of the game. In other words, the main goal of the game is to simply shoot everything that moves while moving fast and looking cool. The game doesn't offer anything revolutionary in terms of gameplay; however, its emphasis on cooperative play and stylish combat make it a solid contender in the current shooter market.
All in all, there’s a lot to like about the new kid on the block of looter shooters. New players will find the game familiar but polished, making it easy to jump right in without having to worry about getting lost in the plethora of options available. On the other hand, veterans will probably enjoy the game even more since it provides a refreshing alternative to the usual looter shooter formula.
Project Magnum offers a promising new take on an already addictive formula, providing hours of fun for players of any skill level.
