Sins of a Solar Empire 2

For you grand strategy fans, games do not get much bigger than Sins of a Solar Empire 2. The original was a massive game, daunting and intimidating to many people. However, for those that love their strategy games to be deep, daring, and offer hundreds of hours of fun, it truly is a remarkable and iconic game. Well, that game which was already huge is about to get a lot bigger as the sequel is here. Well, it kind of is here, the game as I write this is in early access, but we are still going to have a look at a few of the things that make this such a special title.

Galactic Dominance!

As Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is a 4X grand strategy style of game, you will not be shocked to hear that you are striving for galactic dominance. As is the case with most games like this, how you do this is all up to you. As far as the story of the game goes, we have three factions that each want to take as much of the galaxy for themselves as possible. We get to pick which one we play as, as we start our journey toward galactic dominance!

Who Will Rule The Galaxy?

The sci-fi story that is being told in Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is something that I think is very cool. We have three different factions to play as. You can play as Vasari who are a bit more of a desperate race, willing to fight, claw and do whatever it takes to get what they feel they deserve. The TEC are a somewhat newer race making a name for themselves, as the emerging race in this conflict, they are willing to do what they believe in order to take what they feel should be theirs. Lastly, we have Advent who are out for vengeance as well as to take as much of the galaxy for themselves as they can. Each faction will offer you a different viewpoint of the story.

The Galaxy Sure Is Big!

It would be impossible for me to go into great detail about all of the gameplay mechanics that Sins of a Solar Empire 2 is offering. However, you will have to make sure that you are making the right moves at the top as you plan your way to colonize other planets, take resources, and so on. Your generals on the battlefield will have tons of different ships to command as they try to force their will and take what they want from the other races. There are various skill and tech trees and a whole lot more. This is one very, very deep game and the kind that will seem way too complex for many people. However, those that love strategy games will find a whole lot to sink their teeth into here.

Getting Ready For War

As well as the general gameplay of Sins of a Solar Empire 2 having a lot of depth in regards to what kind of ruler you want to be. The combat in this game is also very deep, I already touched on the massive number of ships you have access to. You will have to plan your battles strategically and make sure that you have the right ships at the right locations to try and ensure that you are the victor. Losing a battle can wreak havoc on your resources and morale! It makes battles feel so much more intense when there is so much riding on them.

Pros:

• I am loving this sci-fi intergalactic war the story is telling
• The game looks incredible
• The gameplay is so deep, that you will always be coming up with new strategies
• They seem to have a clear roadmap for the game’s progression

Cons:

• The game is in early access so not all the features are available as of writing
• This is the kind of game that demands a great deal of patience and time from the player
