Tank-O-Box

According to the Developer, Tank-o-Box is described as an action-packed classic arcade battle tank game. The objective of the game is to destroy your enemy's tanks (panzers) and take down their headquarters while defending your own. The game features multiple types of terrains that include the four seasons. In addition, it has ultra-heavy tanks, rocket launchers, and even pillboxes to complete the traditional tank battle experience.

Tank-o-Box was developed by Buka Entertainment and released on June 1, 2004. The game was created in hopes of bringing more action to the tank fighting genre. In this classic battle tank arcade game, you will be operating the tanks to protect your headquarters from any enemy invasion. You must be able to defend your headquarters while simultaneously planning out your strategic attacks on the enemy's headquarters. In order for you to reach the enemy headquarters, you will be required to face the enemy's tanks (panzers).

Non-Stop Battle Mode

While this may sound fairly straightforward, it is anything but that. Most tanks will prioritize one aspect of the game, whether to defend or attack to give you some time to adjust accordingly to the game. Tank-o-Box on the other hand is not as easy of a job. With 8 different types of tanks and armored vehicles that stand between your forces and the enemy headquarters, you will be required to use all your wits.

Take advantage of the different terrains to survive and use the surrounding areas to your benefit. A lot of strategies are required to go into this while also planning your next move.

Features of the Game:

  • 4 types of terrain, 4 seasons, daylight, night and twilight
  • New tanks, rocket launchers, and pillboxes
  • Single and two-player co-op modes
  • Extra mode with the non-stop enemy tank onslaught

Bonuses

On your way to the enemy headquarters, you will be able to collect different bonuses that may range from Freeze and Airstrikes to a tank upgrade. If you are lucky, you might even be able to find an extra life bonus that will grant you an additional life. Just in case. These bonuses will increase your chances of survival and victory against the enemy.

Multiplayer And Single Player Game

Tank-o-Box features both single-player mode or a co-op online multiplayer mode so you can play with your friends. Head onto the battlefield terrains and prove who is the best tank master amongst your team or simply let your inner general out.

For those who are feeling a bit more adventurous and don’t want the party to stop, then this mode is for you. The Tank-o-Box non-stop battle mode will feature 99 lives for each player to enjoy all the madness and tank fighter frenzy they want. Complete with rocket launchers and armored cars. Are you in?

Pros:

  • Features both single player and multiplayer modes
  • Good graphics with the terrains
  • Non-stop battle mode provide added fun

Cons:

  • Graphics are not the best
  • Difficult to play if you do not know the strategies

Game Reviews

Games Like TANK-O-BOX piss me off. No, not because they're lazy rehashes of old ideas, but because they're totally overpriced for what they are.

This is the kind of basic arcade shooter, replete with upgrades and ever more powerful tanks, that should be available for a fiver at the very most, so that the max amount people can enjoy it for what it is - a brief but explosive distraction.

At this price though, it simply isn't worth the bother. The Al is incredibly basic, and it's far too easy to just bulldoze your way through most of the levels, which task you with driving a tank and destroying all the enemies before they destroy you or your base.

At close to 12 quid, we can't recommend it - but if it dropped to a fiver, it'd be just about worth the investment.
