What many are finding is the next gen games don't necessarily mean next gen quality. The Outfit for example seems to reach at points to the 360s strengths but at other times not bother to. This isn't entirely unexpected as many developers are just getting their feet wet in the new technology available but unfortunately, The Outfit pays the price in a number of areas.
I don't want to give the impression that it's not worth your time however. The Outfit does a few things well that really hold the game together. There's a strong story through the single player campaign, the arcade style action is always fun, and there are gameplay elements such as dropping various types of backup right into a battle that keep things interesting.
Unfortunately, there are also areas that make it less enticing to play long term. Other parts of the gameplay are rather bland and it's kind of the same thing over and over. In addition, there's a strong linear nature that makes the experience have a stale feel to it. I was also looking for more in the graphics department as well and with games like Call of Duty 2 leading the way, it really highlights how much more could have been here. Probably the most notable issue however is driving the various vehicles which can be extremely cumbersome.
The Outfit has it's strengths and arcade style games are often less challenging and more exciting but it still has a few drawbacks. Whether they should effect your decision to purchase this game depends probably more on personnel preference. It would however definitely make for a great rental.
