As you stack up an arsenal of bizarre weapons and traverse hauntingly atmospheric levels, Vampire Hunters offers a thrilling and action-packed experience that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Stack, Slay, Repeat

After a quick introductory level, you're dropped into the steampunk world of Transylvania to start stacking firearms and laying waste to the undead. The initial selection of guns, like revolvers and shotguns, is familiar but effective. As you progress and collect new weapons, things escalate quickly into wonderful absurdity with Tesla guns, holy water cannons, and more.

The core gameplay loop is extremely satisfying. Stack weapons to build up your arsenal, then joyfully decimate waves of monsters with your overpowered guns. Despite the repetitive nature of stacking and slaying, Vampire Hunters keeps things fresh with random weapon drops and ever-increasing hordes. There's also enough variety in environments and enemy types to keep you engaged through multiple runs.

Upgrades and Progression

The eerie Transylvanian landscapes ooze with character, offering a perfect backdrop for your monster-slaying escapades. The corridor-like gameplay encourages you to keep moving forward, driving you towards ever more challenging encounters and deeper madness.

Vampire Hunters nails the steampunk aesthetic. The environments have great atmospheres, from foggy graveyards to twisted clockwork towers. I especially enjoyed the creative monster designs, like gentlemen vampires and clockwork demons. The weapons also fit the theme perfectly, with lots of gears, tubes, and exaggerated steam-powered mechanisms.

Still, there was the odd enemy here and there that felt like it came from a completely different game. That said, there was so much action going on at every moment that you could hardly tell what the enemies looked like in between the bullet storms you frequently unleash.
