Young Maria

I am not the biggest fan of these text-based HTML lewd games, but Young Maria did sound interesting to me. I have played a few games of this style before and as I could quickly play this in my browser, I thought it would be fun to check it out and see what it had to offer. I think for those of you that are into these types of games, you have more than enough here to keep you interested and invested in what is going on.

Maria, You’ve Got To See Her!

Man, am I really referencing Blondie, 90s Blondie at that? Well, the story of Young Marie is one that I did find appealing. Maria is a funky young woman who along with her family has moved to a new city. She is trying to find herself here and what kind of person she will be. She can be rather rough and tough (you can get a gun), however, there is also a corruption aspect to the story as well. I liked how at the start of the game, they let you checkboxes for certain fetishes that you wanted and did not want.

I Have That Ikea Bed Too!

As you would expect from a text-based lewd game, Young Maria is mainly made up of text. On the side of the screen, there is a cute drawing of Maria which is fun. There are real life pictures used in the game. These are taken from all over the internet and I swear that the bed is the same one I had back in my student days! Using real porn images is something I have seen other games do so I do not have a problem with that. As you are reading the story, certain words will be highlighted and when you click on these you can get an extra image or gif to check out.

Getting Tired All The Time

You will probably not be surprised to hear that Young Maria is a game that has a great deal of grinding in order to level up your stats. That is the norm for a game like this, but there is a fundamental flaw that spoils the game and that is the energy meter. The way energy is depleted in this game makes no sense to me whatsoever. Also, the way the game dishes out stats is freaking weird too. For example, if you get raped in the daytime for some reason your corruption stat will move up one, if it happens at night, you lose four points!

Pros:

• The real porn images are cool I guess
• I liked the idea of the story
• You can tweak various fetishes on and off
• You can play it all in your browser

Cons:

• The actual gameplay is just not good at all
• The energy mechanic breaks the game
