Alien Marauder

Alien Marauder is a real-time strategy game that pushes you with some real survival and confrontation themed elements. A base builder, this game makes you constantly aware of the ever-present alien threat that exists on this hostile world. It is up to you as the commander of humanity to keep the people safe, increase production and accommodate expansion as this humble race tries to conquer the stars. That said, there are things among the stars that will fight back and attempt to eradicate your forces and your way of life. If you want a game with some real substance, then keep reading.

Gameplay

In intriguing mix of They Are billions and Surviving Mars, Alien Marauder provides large scale, fast paced action for you to oversee. You control humanities forces who must endure against the native alien Vexans, a variety of extra-terrestrial beasts that wish for nothing more than to munch on your flesh.

There are two main ways to play this game:

• Survival Mode – In survival mode, you will be dropped off on a totally random part of terrain. This takes the form of randomly generated map so you won’t have a great idea of where everything is. While here, you must build a base and prepare yourself for the Vexan attack. Recruit troops and prepare your defenses because they come in waves like you have never seen.

• Defensive Mode – In defensive mode, you will be dropped off, again, in a randomly generated map. The only way you can gain resources is by killing Vexans and that causes some issues. You have to survive the Vexans to earn resources so you can upgrade your defenses and survive more Vexans. Its an interesting self-propagating situation where one small misstep is all the difference between surviving or falling to hell.

Visuals

The visuals here are fantastic. There is something brilliantly futurtistic about how everything looks. The aliens all have distinctive designs and certainly look scary enough. You forces look ready as anything to take them on with their armor and laser weapons. The most interesting part of this game is the sheer number of units that can be on screen at any one time.

Allowing you to command 10,000 units and allowing up to 100,000 on screen at the same time, you will be looking into a kind of warfare that is rarely seen in games that specialize in this. There is something so satisfying yet so frightening about seeing your defense under siege or your army engage in battle like colliding oceans. The only thing you can hope for is that your tactics are solid and your team prevails.

Story

There is a lot of stories in this game and I actually found it really interesting. Looking into and discovering things about the Vexans, their Lord and the planet itself. Along with seeing this fictional iteration of humanity that gave me great joy to play and learn.
