A brothel is a place of freedom, in the city of Zahn everyone knows that. The very real King of Brothels provides his favorite customers with the best goods at the best prices. And that King of sinful happiness is you. It is up to you to scour the streets of the fantasy town in search of the very best girls. Some ladies are the diamonds of the streets, who have worked for themselves and are already used to hard labor - such an experience can be valued more dearly. Or steal unsuspecting schoolgirls, because virginity is also expensive. It is up to you to decide how to run your business and what kind of product to catch.

Success is the result of hard work

To be a good brothel owner you have to be the best yourself. In order to do this, you can sometimes get into fights. The fights are done in a turn-based RPG system, but the hero needs special skills to fight and to live the brothel. Each time a brothel is upgraded, its owner receives points. These points can be allocated between different stats of the protagonist:

• Strength - increases the brothel's guard level. Allows the hero to come out less beaten from urban skirmishes with competitors
• Spirit - increases the amount of mana points needed to cast more complex spells
• Charisma - you'd be surprised, but people can be talked into prostitution.
• Speed - in battles the number of moves increases
• Reputation - some fights can be avoided due to high reputation of the brothel, it also brings more clients and money accordingly

Dolls with an opinion

The main commodity in the brothel are the girls. Each girl has a certain set of stats, which can be changed by diligent training. For example, experience or self-defense can be increased to the maximum, but the body count is unlikely to change. Each resident of the brothel has her own opinion about the main character. Will you make the girls hate you or confess their love? Choose your model of behavior, because only your word is the law in the brothel.

When you hear about a game called Brothel King, you pretty much know right away what you are getting into. Make no mistake about it, if you have ever wanted to run a brothel and thought that you have what it takes, this is the game for you. I have to be honest and say that I am surprised there are not more games that take on this kind of thing as the idea is pretty sound and just begging to be filled with lewdness!

King Of The Johns

The premise of the game is that you want to make as much money as you can, have a bunch of sexy ladies worship you. There is a story that is running alongside Brothel King, but I have to be honest and say that for me it played second fiddle to the ladies themselves. There is a little bit of reading here and there, but nothing that will grab you.

The “quests” in this game are basically you doing things like helping a dude find the right escort that will impress snobs or hiring the right kind of help. These tend to be quite short and pretty fun. So, while I would not say the over-arcing story grabbed me, I did find all of the little quests interesting enough.

Don’t They Say Variety Is The Spice Of Life?

In talking about the visuals of Brothel King I am not really sure where exactly the best place is to start. You see the UI is clean enough and easy to navigate. You click on a quest, select the right girl, and so on and that is that. There are a lot of girls and a lot of CG in this game and they are a bit of a mixed bag. It is like they got about 20 artists to make art for this game and they all pretty much did what they want. Do not get me wrong, I am not complaining, I like the variety, but I feel some people may find it a tad jarring.

The sound in the game is very inoffensive. I will say that with “management” games like this I tend to have my own music playing. There is the odd moan here and there and as you would expect that more than gets the job done.

The Right Girl For The Right Job

There are many different ladies that you can hire in this game and you have many different “rooms” that you can hire out and so on. I liked how each lady has her own stats such as sensitivity, libido, body, and so on. These are always referred to as her “main skills”. As well as main skills, each girl also has sex skills and these are service, sex, anal, and fetish. It helps make each girl unique and also adds a slight puzzle element where you have to make sure you are selecting the right girl for the right job.

• The way the ladies have different stats is pretty cool
• I liked picking the right girl for the right job
• Some of the girls are very attractive!
• The game is being frequently updated

Cons:

• I think it could have done without the story/VN aspects of the game
• I would love to see the management stuff become more in-depth
