This dualistic narrative gives meaning to the gameplay action, which makes every detective work or triumph meaningful. It reaches points of actual revelation along with introspection the more that players discover about the world and the true nature of the withering, or the history behind Ava.

Comparing Creatures of Ava to a game like Journey, one is immediately struck by all the things it does better.
