Eiyuu*Senki: The World Conquest is a fun, if not basic strategy game that features a unique take on some of history’s most famous and iconic characters. One thing that we have to address before we start is the version of this game that you will be playing. While this is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and through STEAM. It is worth noting that those three versions are heavily censored and are missing the XXX content that the game originally offered. To be honest, the game is more than just the lewdness, but it is worth noting if you want to see the characters in all their glory.
A Stranger From A Distant Land
The world that Eiyuu*Senki: The World Conquest is set in is always at war and Himiko who is the ruler of a place called Zipang wants there to be peace. Our “hero” joins forces with her as they set out to battle the other nations into submission so there can be peace. If you want peace, you must prepare for war is how the saying goes! The story is very well told and I liked how character-driven it was.
There are fun takes on famous figures such as King Arthur, Marco Polo, and Rasputin. The game also does not take itself too seriously either which I really liked. It is a game that is sure to make you smile a great deal, the only issue is that the pacing of the story (and the game in general) does feel a little off and there are some periods where it feels like you are waiting for something to happen.
The Dream Team From History
If you have played any strategy game before you will get to grips with the gameplay of Eiyuu*Senki: The World Conquest very quickly. You have to assemble a team of people to fight for you and you can have different teams which you will need to incorporate as you play. While the gameplay may be a bit on the basic side, it is still a lot of fun, and getting the right people with the right skills together as a team does require you to think about what you are doing. You want to build a strong relationship with your characters and help them level up so that they can have more troops at their disposal which in turn will help you. I liked the way the game eased you into things, but even towards the end of the game I never felt
Not Quite Like A Fine Wine
The visuals of Eiyuu*Senki: The World Conquest are a bit of a mixed bag. I liked the different XXX portraits that the game has and going to the unedited PC version from what I played on the Vita was quite a shock as these are pretty damn hardcore! These along with the character portraits, cutscenes and the maps and menus that you go through all look great and have held up very well over the years. The main issue I have with the visuals of the game is the battles. These are very, very basic looking with next to no animation. I like the way you see your combatants on a grid, but I just wish the whole battle system was a bit flashier. They nailed the score for the game, it is very fitting and as a real fantasy element to it that I liked.
I thought that Eiyuu*Senki: The World Conquest was a decent enough lewd strategy game. The best part about the game for me was the humor. Seeing these characters in this way was something that I found very fun and when the story was rolling, it was well written and very humorous.
It did make me want to keep on playing, I am not sure I would ever go back to this game to fully complete it, but I did enjoy of it what I played.
Pros:
- I liked the story that the game told
- Some very amusing characters
- The leveling up system is quite unique
- Battles are very easy to get into
- The game will make you laugh
Cons:
- The whole game feels very basic
- I really wish that they made the battles look more exciting
