Escape from the Hospital

Look, Escape from the Hospital is the kind of game that many people will say sucks, but I had some fun with this game and I can see its charm. Perhaps it is because I am a sucker for any survival style game where I am up against a bunch of zombies. Who knows what it was, but I found myself wanting to keep playing this and see if I could get a little bit further and perhaps even make it out of this god forsaken hospital!

What Did I Just Read?

I am not sure where the developer of Escape from the Hospital is from, but I would wager, English is not their first language. I have read this “There is no dentist with a long line to him, from which you really want to get up and leave, although this is no less scary, the situation is different” multiple times and I still have no freaking clue what it means! It is hilarious though and it made me take the game far less seriously and that was when I started having some serious fun with it.

Escape Or Die!

As you have probably figured out, Escape from the Hospital is not the kind of zombie game that has a narrative to match The Walking Dead video games. You wake up in a hospital, there are naked zombies all over the place and you need to survive and escape, that is the premise and if I am being real with you, that is more than enough for me. Not every game needs to tell a deep and meaningful story, sometimes survival is the story and that is certainly the case here.

Blasting And Running

I would put Escape from the Hospital more in the category of a survival game than a first person shooter. The reason I say this is that ammo in this game is extremely limited. In my first play through, I came across weapons at a pretty quick rate, but soon realized that ammo was very scarce, this forced me on repeat playthroughs to be more cautious. I do think that the game would be a lot more fun if they were more generous with the ammo that they gave you. It is pretty cool though how each run is different as the placement for stuff like ammo, weapons, and keys for the doors will change each time.

Zombies Need Brains And Pants

Ok, why exactly are the zombies in Escape from the Hospital running around naked? That is never explained, but it is kind of hilarious! The whole game has a very budget look about it, kind of like a game from the PlayStation era days that would have had a 20 bucks price tag. It is not horrible looking, just very basic, still, it gets the job done, just do not expect to be getting scared by any of the zombies here, well unless you are scared of pantless zombies of course!

Pros:

• I like how it is kind of a similar story to episode 1 of The Walking Dead
• There are more weapons in the game than you would think
• The zombies are kind of hilarious
• The placement of key items changes each time you play the game

Cons:

• The game would be more fun if there were more ammo laying around
• It is a budget game in every regard!
