This fantasy game goes back to simpler visuals but definitely doesn't go back on the gameplay, as it's very original, even though it's clear the places they took inspiration from when developing this game. About the game

Hero’s Hour is an RPG, strategy game that's simple enough for most players to get into, yet complex enough to get really interesting. You play as the hero, and you'll be able to explore the overworld, build cities, create an army, and take part in some epic battles. Level up your hero and get your army to be the strongest, overcome your enemies and conquest it all.

The gameplay uses real-time, and turn-based mechanics, but they are differently applied to parts of the game. For instance, building your town and exploring the world are thought to take place in turn-based mechanics, this helps when planning how to use your resources and getting your next moves ready. But when it comes to the battles, it is all in real-time, with over one hundred units fighting at the same time. Command the spells, use your artillery, and get all your soldiers in position to defeat your enemies.

One of the most interesting parts of all this game is that the map is actually procedurally generated, this means you can't really look for much of a guide, and you'll be really exploring a new world every time you start a new game. No two players will face the same game world ever. As you find new areas make sure to expand your kingdom thereby building cities and growing your army.

Explore and conquer

This game has a lot of strategy and world-building that remind us of games like Age of Empires or Battle Brothers, but it is really unlike pretty much any game. It is really inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic, and this expands to the visuals and the title of the game itself, and if you've ever heard of Heroes of Might and Magic, you just know this is a great thing.

Hero's Hour is not a game for everybody, but if you like it, you'll love it. It sure can be attractive with its visuals and art for more modern players, but if you like games full of nostalgic feelings, this game is for you.
