There’s not a real reason why horror games and eroge games work well together. There’s a public that doesn’t enjoy these two mixed, as they can represent how gruesome can be the world, and others enjoy these two genres mixed because of the morbidness it has. Whatever the reason is, Tag After School is a horror/eroge game that will make cause you some chills going down your spine.

No Trespass

In this game, the protagonist, Shota, gets constantly bullied by a so-called friend of his. This time, this “good” friend, challenges Shota to get inside and explore an abandoned High School. To stop getting mocked, Shota has to bring out some evidence of him exploring the place, but instead, Shota ends up finding ghosts. These ghosts will harass Shota and will only let him go after playing tag with him.

These ghosts will not kill Shota; instead, Shota will get abused, and not in a good way. Poor little guy! The good thing about this is that, if you don’t have a strong stomach, the scenes are mostly blurred out, which is great.

Spooky Scary Ghosts

The character design of Tag After School is pretty unique. The game fits entirely inside the Pixel Art style but with a lot of details, which is great. It resembles games like NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD in terms of graphics, but obviously, without the same color palette characteristic of the latter.

The ghosts are the highlight of this game, which is very creepy. It’s fair to say that the horror of the game is based on jumpscares, which are very good and can make you scream even though you know they are coming. The suspense plays an essential role here too; both the suspense and the well-executed screamers create a pretty good unsettling ambiance, which gets reinforced with the stage of the game; the abandoned high school.

The abandoned high school, by itself, is able to make you feel anxious as it’s filled with dark, and the only source of light is located near Shota, which complicates the gameplay (for good) and sets the tone of the whole game; darkness.

Overall, the whole game is well-executed; you’ll get scared, anxious, and disgusted by what you’ll see.

It is said about this game that it’s very hard to find it. If you look it up on Google, you’ll see plenty of shady web pages providing a link to an APK, which means that, originally, this was a game planned to be played on Android.

It’s very hard to find a good copy of Tag After School; there are people claiming that there’s an uncensored version of it, but that’s even harder to find. If you possess it, try to upload it to a reliable webpage and share it with the world!

Tag After School is an Anime horror game set in a Japanese high school. The main character, Shota-Kun, is bullied into entering an old, forgotten high school after dark by his friend. He searches for some kind of evidence to bring back with him, but finds ghosts instead.

One of the ghosts tells him to be allowed to leave he needs to play games with them until 6AM. Each ghost has their own mechanics, and if you are caught it is game over.

Graphics

The graphics have a somewhat pixelated style but are very well done for the style. The animations are fairly smooth, atmosphere is moody and perfect for a horror, and the characters are all unique. If you are looking for something realistic or drawn in a 2D anime style, this may be a bit disappointing, but it does well for what it is.

Ecchi Gameplay

The game opens with you meeting a ghost who threatens Shota-Kun if he doesn’t play with them. They plan to sexually abuse him rather than kill him if he’s caught, however. Shota can solve a mystery around each ghost as time goes on, with players being rewarded with an erotic scene should they solve it.

The ecchi scenes aren’t terribly detailed (it is pixel art afterall) but it gives the player a pretty clear idea of what happened to poor Shota. The game is censored for the most part, and it is very difficult to find an uncensored version of the game. Regardless, this game probably isn’t the best choice for playing in public areas or around children.

Jump Scares are Fairly Good

The horror aspects of the game are mainly jump scares, and even when you are prepared for them, they are still pretty good. Winning the game is very challenging due to the number of different ghosts who all have their own mechanics. If players can successfully duck the ghosts until 6AM, similar to Five Nights at Freddy’s but with hours instead of days, they can escape and the game is won. Some of the ghosts are very difficult to beat however, so this might take a while. Finding Tag After School is Tricky

Tag After School isn’t readily available on Steam, iOS or Android. Instead, players may have to download a mod and access the game indirectly. This may be because it is a Japanese game, but it is very difficult to determine more about the game since very little is offered.

This is a good game if you like horror and are looking for a moderately ecchi game to play. The fun of the game, smooth mechanics, and thrilling jump scares are balanced by the fact that finding the game is very difficult.
