Atari's offbeat, food-fightin' frenzy for the Lynx puts you through a unique beat-em-up obstacle course with run-of-the-mill controls. You must squelch yesterday's living leftovers before they turn you into tonight's midnight snack.

Feeeeeed Me!

Video game developer, Odnet, Inc., has created a highly unstable compound, Rynoleum. You snare the toxic substance and store it in your freezer for eventual disposal. However, the compound overheats and transforms you into a three-inch tall, green beastie. To make matters worse, your frozen food comes to life! The mutant munchies plan worid domination, starting with your kitchen. Guess it's time for some Kung Food fightin'!

To restore your human body and put the food in its place, you slop through five nice-looking, sick-o levels of juicy action. You beat beets, chill out ice demons, karate chop carrots, retire radishes, and defeat other delicacies.

Kung Food slaps it on thick and nasty, but the carf s still a fairly basic beating. Your jab, punch, kick, and jump kick moves don't break any new ground. The control's also a bit weak. It's hard to turn and move your character precisely. The challenge gets extra hot and hairy, and there's a time limit with no continues. You'll need a kick-and-splat black belt to beat Kung Food to a juicy pulp.

The action's predictable, but the graphics are great. You'll like Kung Food's big and bold landscaping. The side-view screen scrolls horizontally and vertically, so you can pulverize the evil edibles in any direction. Mutilate a morsel and it explodes nicely. The sprites are glorified to big screen-filling sizes. The music and sounds, however, are slightly stale.

Kung Food delivers a decent doseofsmack-'n'-splatter action with all the major food groups. Beat-em-up bullies with time on their hands should chow down on Kung Food.
