With its eye-popping colors and cute graphics, Let’s! Revolution! Is probably the cutest roguelite you will see this year. Let’s! Revolution! Puts you in the role of one of your choice of heroes, and then sends you after the evil King of Beebom as he rushes to return to his throne.

The game plays out a bit like a game of minesweeper. The player is presented with a series of face down tiles, and must select one to try and find the king. This is no easy task, as uncovering a tile may reveal one of the king’s guards instead.

Over 100 Items Available

Beyond mere Minesweeper, the game also offers a generous number of upgrades and items to help you. These items need to be used strategically throughout the game to help you succeed. There’s a strong element of strategy required for this game, and players will need to think several steps ahead to succeed. An interesting addition to this game is that when an enemy attacks, it is guaranteed to hit. Players will have to use their items or other strategy because there isn’t any chance that the attack will miss.

Appropriate For All Gaming Experience

The creator of this game, Buck, wanted to make a game that was approachable for all skills levels. They also wanted to make sure that the game was challenging enough for those who were very experienced in this type of game.

The creative director Michael Highland said, “With this game, we strove to create something anyone who loves Buck animation can pick up and enjoy, while also satisfying expectations of depth for the genre. Ultimately, we surprised ourselves with just how far the starting rules of the game could be stretched.” By adding to and augmenting the relatively simple game Minesweeper, they have changed it into a powerful new game.

Enormous Replay Value

Once you get the hang of the game, playing through it doesn’t take all that long. What adds replay value isn’t how long the game is, but how much things change. Besides the many different items you can use to change the course of the game, there’s also 6 different heroes you can choose to play.

All the mazes in the game are procedurally generated, meaning you can’t simply memorize the path and continue on. Every time you play the game will be different and require you to keep planning and thinking.

If you enjoy Minesweeper, or like playing roguelites, this will no doubt be an enjoyable new game for you. The beautiful graphics mixed with challenging strategy will keep you playing for hours.
