No Man’s Sky: Singularity is the latest update in a long running series. The new update offers a new story arch to the series, which developers say may take years to complete. This storyline is the 10th major update for the game and is about AI corruption and robotic uprisings.

In a previous update, new features called Harmonic Camps were added. This latest update delves deaper into their history, why they are there, and what they do.

Packed with Features

The new Singularity update is a mixture of quality-of-life updates, story, missions and more. The update includes new cosmetics, including a purple stream of smoke that colors your jetpack trail. Other cosmetics include a Wayfarer’s Helm and a Geometric Cape.

There’s even a full customization kit that will allow players to turn their character into a robot, should they so desire.

The game is also embarking on a 5 week long community expedition. During the event, the community will be working with Nada and Polo on the space anomaly.

A Mystery Revealed

During the event, mysterious robot heads will appear throughout the galaxy. The developers promise that by the end of the event, players will have a good idea of where the rest of the game is headed. Finding these robot heads is a critical part of the new event, and will help you get the new rewards available in this update. If you played the previous installment that released just a few weeks ago, No Man’s Sky: Interceptor, you’ll be more prepared for this current update and what’s going on in the story arch.

Several Bug Fixes

On top of all the new content, the developers also fixed some problematic bugs the game was facing. This included a bug related to memory management that caused the game to crash, as well as some annoying issues with corrupted drones healing themselves inappropriately.

Dozens of other bugs were fixed also, including mild ones like shadow issues to the cockpit, all the way up to major ones that made it difficult to play the game.

Free Update

A wonderful part of the game is that once you buy the original game, No Man’s Sky, the rest of the updates are offered free. If you already own No Man’s Sky, you get a free copy of No Man’s Sky: Singularity, and it is combined with every copy of the game sold afterwards.

Many games sell DLC instead of giving it away, making enjoying your favorite game very pricey. No Man’s Sky is refreshing in that it doesn’t force players to pay for every little update.

If you’re a fan of No Man’s Sky, you will likely enjoy this new update. It offers a lot to players with the many bug fixes, new community-based event, and attractive new cosmetics. If you’re not a fan of the game already, you’ll likely want to start at the beginning so you can understand what is going on in the game.
