Gameplay

So, as explained, this is a survival life simulator, your job is to survive life. That may sound easy, but anyone who doesn’t live with their parents knows that it is not always that easy. The objective is easy enough, but the means of how you accomplish it is what makes the game tough. You must balance your health and wellbeing against working just that bit harder, to make just a bit more money, to afford a better life. The jobs you take on can vary from laborer at a construction site to a delivery runner.

As a survival sim, you have to keep an eye on your money, your health, your location, dangers and more to make sure that you can make it through the night. If you need to rustle through bins to get some food without spending money, then that is what you have to do. This game will test your ingenuity, and force you to make the hard calls. How far you can make it is solely dependent on how hard you’re willing to push. The gameplay has a similar style and concept behind it as Project Zomboid, but no zombies.

Visuals

The visuals of the game aren’t anything astonishing, but they are good. This title clearly has its own style, that gives a cell shaded look like Borderlands, but a color palette and character design closer to I Am Alive, both of which are stunning games. Walking around in the packed city, trying to find a way to survive is really exemplified by the desaturated colors. You can’t help but feel like things are hopeless, but that is what makes the game exceptional. It isn’t just finding a way to survive; it is finding the will and a reason to.

Story

The story of this game can vary as you can start off from a few different beginnings. The first beginning is Debt Trap, where your father owes money to the wrong people and then disappeared. It’s up to you to find out how to scrounge the money up and fix things, or perhaps meet a similar fate.
