Are you ready to return to what was one of the weirdest, wackiest, and most hilariously thrilling video games of all time? Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is a return to the shoes of the President of the USA. It's a re-release to feature all of the bits and bobs added to the game in one complete package. But is it enough to make you purchase the full title again?

We've already tasted the original title and could have bought into the additional content over the years. The inherent problem is that there was a lot of material, often to a point where it could have been more affordable for the typical gamer. Is investing in Saints Row IV: Re-Elected an opportunity to get everything you missed in one game? Let's see if it's worth it.

A Second Term

Let's catch up if you still need to play the original release of Saints Row IV. After an alien invasion, our friendly neighborhood Saints have been transported into a parallel universe, where the boss has been elected President of the United States. You'll spend your days in this sprawling open world fighting to free humanity from the grip of an alien overlord, using a questionable arsenal to fight your battles.

We're looking more here if Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is worth the buy, considering it's a re-release featuring all the additional content released over the years. The package contains 25 DLC packs that include crazy costumes, wacky weapons, and story episodes that make Monty Python seem sane. Many players complained over the years that it was too much needless content pumped out at premium prices.

But now, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected pins everything together at the price of one game. So the whole package has value? Yes, it does. The integral problem is that putting everything into one playable game has riddled core gameplay with bugs. Still, it's also given players too much power from the start. The DLCs drastically improve player abilities, making any challenge in the game seem redundant.

Still, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is a momentously fun game. The bizarre nature of the gameplay, the ludicrous combat, and the vast open-world environment club together for hours of entertainment. The fact that this edition has expanded the narrative adds even more for both new and old players to enjoy.

Pushing the Agenda

So back to the brunt of the question, is Saints Row IV: Re-Elected worth the purchase? You may already own the game and have sporadic DLC bits. Purchasing again may be redundant. If you're a new player, it's the better edition to buy, so you get the complete experience for one reasonable price.

Ultimately, purchasing Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition is worth it because the additional content was good. With Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, there are more cosmetic enhancements, weapons, and weird assets than any engaging content. So bottom line; new players, yes; old players, no.
