It feels like I have been waiting years for The Coma 3: Bloodlines to come out, and that is because I have! This is the third part of this epic series, and from what I understand, this is the conclusion!
Third Time Is The Charm
I thought that The Coma 2 was awesome, and when I first played that, what I think is about six years ago now as I write this, I loved it. This game sees you play as one of three characters in a school that has been turned into a nightmare thanks to the Coma dimension and all of the chaos that is being caused. This is really cool stuff, and if you love dark and twisted horror that is more about getting under your skin and making you feel uneasy, this is going to be something you have a great time with. But I do recommend you play the other two games first, as this does bring things to a fantastic close.
Hide Or Die
The Coma 3: Bloodlines is just so much fun to play, and I like how the playable characters offer something unique. For example, one can more easily avoid monsters, whereas another can fight back. There is still a lot of exploration, running, and hiding in the game, and some of the areas are really tight, which ramps up the tension if you have a few monsters that are standing in the way of where you want to go. There are also four new bosses in the game, and these guys do not screw around. The game is challenging, but in a fun way, and if you fail, which you will, you usually get a pretty fun and epic scare out of it.
A Graphic Kind Of Novel
While I think the other games look good, this one here kicks things up several notches. This one is much more cinematic, and the graphic novel visuals make it look like something Frank Millar would have produced in the late 80s! I was blown away by how large and detailed the characters were, and the monster designs are just awesome. I loved the creepy vibes the mirror style dimension had. All in all, this is one of the best-looking 2D horror games that I have ever played.
I feel that you 100 percent need to play the other two games before you jump into The Coma 3: Bloodlines, but that is not a bad thing, as this whole series is great. If you love horror, you are in for a real treat with this whole saga!
Pros:
- The expanded lore in this game is incredible
- This is just a gorgeous and horrific looking game
- I liked how the characters felt unique and offered different gameplay
Cons:
- You lose a lot by not playing the other games first
- While this was a great end, I hope it is not the last of the Coma series

Game Reviews
The Coma 3: Bloodlines is a side-scrolling horror game that takes players to South Korea. The story unfolds at an old school called Sehwa, which is famous for its dark legends. Three students—Mina, Yasol, and Yeonho—decide to investigate the strange occurrences and discover that the school is home to so-called ghost spirits. They live in another dimension called Coma and usually don’t cause any trouble. But something has angered them, pulling them out of the mirror dimension, and now they intend to take bloody revenge on all humans.
Game Features
- Each boss requires a specific strategy, and it’s best to hide from some monsters altogether
- Each of the three main characters has their own set of skills and strengths
- Although players gave the game positive reviews, they noted that this installment lacks horror, especially compared to the previous two updates, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters and The Coma 2B: Catacomb
- The beautiful anime-style art will appeal to all fans of Japanese horror
