Triangle Strategy is just the game to get into if you’re looking to challenge yourself. This recently announced title is sure to become one of the most discussed titles upon its release. With a strong demo and many promises from its developer, Triangle Strategy deserves someone like you to keep an eye on it.
In February, Nintendo and Square Enix announced Triangle Strategy. In February, a free demo for the game was also made available on the Nintendo eShop, and Square Enix solicited input from players on the game. This feedback, according to the Nintendo Direct announcer, has played a part in development.
What exactly is Triangle Strategy about?
Triangle Strategy is the newest product from the creators of Octopath Traveler, it's a turn-based tactics game in the vein of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Players command a variety of party members — magicians, knights, archers, and so on — and lead them through conflicts in a fantasy environment.
Serenoa Wolffort, the game's primary protagonist, is the heir of one of the world's great houses. Players in his position have the ability to affect the world around them by making critical decisions. Triangle Strategy's tale will be filled with "choice and consequences," with the game's narrative course shifting based on Wolffort's decisions.
Story
The demo places you in the middle of a turbulent period in the tale, including Chapters 6 and 7. The primary narrative pieces offer a clear image of the serious nature of the event. These important pieces are completely voiced, which helps each of the numerous characters stand out. There's also a "profile" button that displays their illustration and title so you can remember who's who—or simply gaze at the lovely images.
Gameplay and Difficulty
In addition to viewing the main plot, you can also locate side stories to learn more about people from other factions. Certain areas enable you to travel freely, and you can even acquire a few new companions. There's also an opportunity to research, persuade your allies, and vote on a game-changing choice. This one demo contains a sampling of everything the whole game has to offer—everything of interest in the Nintendo Direct announcement and more gets a chance to shine with the demo.
Of course, this demo has three maps to complete (though accessing them depends on the choices you make in the demo). In my opinion, the first is considerably easier, while the second makes much greater use of the landscape. Triangle Strategy swiftly provides numerous levels of sophisticated strategy to build upon by promoting the use of talents to drive foes away.
The demo's difficulty was increased in the same way that the demos for Bravely Default 2 were, yet combat never seemed too overpowering. Knowing that the game's complexity had been altered inspired me to try further with the unique landscape interactions.
Verdict
Triangle Strategy seems like the right title to check out if you’re really into the themes showcased in Octopath Traveler. The strategic gameplay elements are extremely fun to interact with.
I’d recommend giving this title a go if you own a Nintendo Switch.
