We have traveled to places like Thailand, Greenland, and the mighty Amazon River, but this time, Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR takes us to the wonderful Taupo Lake in New Zealand. Prepare your rods and your hooks; this journey will be amazing!

New Fishes!

Every Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR DLC comes with many new fishes to find, stuff, and hang on your wall or set free, and Taupo Lake is no exception. This DLC includes 12 brand-new species, which is a lot. Here’s a list of what you can find:

Brown Bullhead Catfish
Brown Trout
Chinook Salmon
Flathead Grey Mullet
Giant Kokopu
Koi Carp
Longfin Eel
Rainbow Trout
Rudd
Sockeye Salmon
Tench

This is a long list of fishes, even more than previous DLCs such as Japan or the Amazon River. Also, it’s great to have a lot of variations from the usual stuff you can find in the base game. I love it!

Another thing that surprised me was the number of fishes that spawned pretty near the shore of the lake. I appreciate this because sometimes, waiting for a fish can be tedious if you don’t know where to look, but in this DLC, you can fish wherever you want, and you’ll find yourself with a big Brown Trout or a beautiful Chinook Salmon.

The Tongariro River

The Taupo Lake DLC shines above the rest because the map is gigantic, and there are a lot of places to explore. I hope you didn’t think you’ll only be in the middle of Taupo Lake, and that’s all; you’ll also have access to the Tongariro River, meaning you can spend hours exploring the map without getting tired.

Of course, the excellent graphics of Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR makes the exploration even more enjoyable!

A New Boat To Ply The Waters

The Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR - Taupo Lake DLC comes with a new boat to explore Taupo Lake. Of course, it’s just a new texture for the usual boat, but these are the kinds of details that I love to find in a DLC; a mix of fresh and new mechanics alongside some new textures and skins that makes the game feels like I’m in a new adventure.

Definitely, the Taupo Lake DLC is one of the biggest and best DLCs Ultimate Fishing Simulator has had over the years. The zones are huge, and there’s a lot to explore. There are many new fishes (alongside the old ones, of course) that you can find, so overall, you’ll have a great experience with this DLC.

The only problem I would see on Ultimate Fishing Simulator - Taupo Lake DLC is that you have to get very deep in the map to find more new fish than the usual Brown Trout or the Chinook Salmon, but I feel like this is more of a challenge than a problem. It can be annoying if you don’t like to explore, but it’s not my case, so I feel this was a clever choice.
