DownloadsYou wouldn't think Playmates would be able to cram 16 fighters (with special moves) into a tiny 4-meg cart. Think again. World Heroes 2 Jet is a scaled-down version of the Neo-Geo fighter, and for its size, it's a portable punch-out.
Munchkin Muscle
The best fighters of World Heroes I and 2 appear in this Super Game Boy cart, and though they look like they've been through the trash compactor, they still pack a punch.
Sixteen fighters, from the sword-wielding Janne to the dragon-punching Fuuma, brawl to see who can take it all. You can fight against a friend (via the GameLink) or in a best-of-three match.
Jet Powered
Although the fighters have been reduced to cartoony pint-sized characters that are almost too cute, they still retain a lot of the fluid special moves, like Fuuma's Dragon Uppercut and Janne's Aura Bird. Even scaled down, the moves are easy to see.
The music is not as worldly. The repetitive battle theme is annoying, and the contact effects (when you score a hit) sound like clothes ripping.
The control is a breeze, especially if you know the moves from the Neo-Geo game. Performing the moves is also fairly simple.
If you have only a Game Boy to spare and you're a fan of the Neo»Ceo game, World Heroes 2 Jet is just the fight you're looking for. It's too bad no one has seen fit to release this puppy for a 16-bit system yet. Oh, well. Jet happens.
ProTips:
- Be careful when launching Capt. Kidd's ship in close. If it's deflected, it damages you. Enemies always deflect in close.
- When you launch J. Cam on his squat shot, get in close. You could miss and open yourself up to attack.
- A good offensive tactic with Fuuma is to rush the opponent (tap twice in their direction), then go into the Dragon Uppercut.

I bought World Heroes 2 and thought it was a good game. Now after playing this remake, I'm about to toss the old one out! This cart has been retooled to play better and have more moves. There are so many cool additions, it's hard to describe how much is new I like the many taunts and fake dizzies. The two new characters are a bit too powerful though. This is one to get if you have a Neo-Geo.
There are plenty of great fighting games for the Neo-Geo and World Heroes 2 Jet is no exception. This title comes out on top with sharper and more colorful graphics plus awesome stereo music and sound The real kicker is the improvement on play control making the special moves easier to execute. The new Tournament Mode is also a great feature. Those who own the first WH should pick this up.

The Neo fighting games keep getting better. After the hit Samurai Shodown, I thought they could only go down. Wrong! WH 2 Jet is a top-notch fighting game in every aspect. Dozens of new moves and two extra characters are only the beginning of the changes. There are new modes of play and new techniques such as faking a dizzy which adds a new level of strategy. It looks hot and handles just as good.

Takara's following up on the huge NEO carts that were given the munchkin treatment for the Game Boy! This time it's ADK's whopping cart, but the gang's all here including even the end Bosses. Not just that, but every one of the power moves from the arcade has been perfectly retained. What a feat!
