ATV Offroad Fury 4

When I play racing games, I ask only that they let me race without serious obstruction. I'm cool with destructible terrain, or crazy vehicles, or even a weird array of weaponry. What I'm not cool with is coming to a dead stop in the middle of a race. Unfortunately,ATV Offroad Fury 4 doesn't do that. All in all, it works out pretty well.

I'm normally used to playing more arcade style racing games, titles where taking a corner properly is important, usually because normal steering isn't enough to take the corner at speed. The experience in this game is slightly different, as it is all too easy to over steer your car. With a little practice, and a good clutch turn, navigating the courses should be a relative breeze. Perhaps the most entertaining part of this game is the variety of different race modes. Whether on ATV, dirtbike, or buggy, I really enjoy the different mix of vehicles that the game provides access to.

If there's one glaring flaw in the game, it is ATV's trick system. First, controlling the tricks can be a total pain. Getting them to activate instead of reorient your bike in midair is a pain. Second, you can't really trick that good in this game, given how difficult it is to pull off a trick on a high jump and then move that into a combo to keep the tricks going.

In terms of graphics and audio, this is pretty stock standard in terms of design. It looks good, and sounds okay, but it doesn't really break new ground. If you can imagine playing an EA Sports style game, you'll know what to expect. All in all, this is decently solid title, only a few flaws.
