You find an island, and begin to collect resources while planting crops that will feed your handful of faithful workers. As your mining operation grows, the need for more people and advanced automation arises. While your new home continues to bend to your will as you mine its resources and manage your growing community, your careful management and dedication to research will advance your technology to what you had before you left your original home, and maybe even go beyond that. This is the setup for Captain of Industry, a game about colony management and factory simulation being developed by MaFi Games. The tiny studio, which consists of friends Mark and Filip, are hard at work on what is shaping up to be an incredible experience in both of the game genres it is setting out to compete with. Masters of Manufacturing

In Captain of Industry, you’ll initially start small. Your budding colony will only need a small amount of food, and you’ll only have enough money for a small mining operation and accompanying factory. As the money begins to roll in and things get more complicated, you will be able to expand into new, more lucrative ventures like electronics, data centers, crude oil processing, and more. With over 150 products to manufacture and sell, your island industry has tons of options in its quest for success.

Automated Amusement

At a certain point, you will need an efficient way to transport materials and goods from one place to another. If you’ve played Satisfactory or Factorio, you have a bit of an idea of what comes next. Complex autonomous production lines, constantly-moving belts full of goods being safely moved from one place to the next. Your system of conveyor belts and fleet of trucks that move those finished products to the dock will be the backbone of your whole operation. Without them, there’s no way you’ll be able to ramp up production enough to expand!

Get Diggin’

Captain of Industry’s fully dynamic terrain is full of natural resources for you to claim. Dig huge open pits to get at things like coal, gold, copper, and iron, and keep extracting till it’s gone. When you’ve taken the lot, you can refill that pit and use the new land to further expand your factories and conveyor systems.
