About the game
When it comes to a title such as this one, the importance of the plot and narrative is such that it's hard to explain without spoiling the game. Taking place 2 years after its predecessor, it manages to not follow up any of the possible endings of that game. But in case you didn't play that game don't worry, they were kind enough to include a video explaining everything you need to know.
As the title says, mankind is divided between normal people, and the augmented. These later ones are humans with mechanical implementations to their bodies that greatly enhance them. At the beginning of the game, we face a terrorist attack that increases the division and despise of average people against the augments.
As Adam Jensen, an Interpol agent and hacker, we have to investigate the event, but doing so we'll find new conspirations, hidden events and dark secrets. All of this to uncover that things are not the way it seems and that there are many more people involved in these events.
A conservative sequel
The Deus Ex series has always been one of the most unique and original ones out there Not only for its plot style and character development but also thanks to its gameplay style and innovation. This title takes a lot from its predecessor Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and that's a good thing.
Sure, it may seem that Eidos Montreal went for the safe route developing this title making it so similar to its predecessor. And while that's true, it still helps to return players to feel familiar with the controls and game style. While also giving new players a great experience with the game. Making choices is what this game is all about, not only in dialogues but also in the way we face each mission. And this is one of the many things both games have in common, but it's probably one the reason its players love the games.
Deus Ex: Mankind divided is a great title, bringing back everything from the last ones with a lot of enhancements. The story is greatly developed and presented beautifully,. Every decision you make in the game is important and has consequences, so you shouldn't take any lightly.
Graphics and Visuals: The visual aspect of this game is simply incredible, not only are the graphics amazing but the art style is excellent too. It's a dark take on cyberpunk and a very mature one at that.
Gameplay: The controllers are a bit complicated, but with a little practice you get to understand it fast enough. Decision taking in this game makes you feel more part of the story, but keep in mind that the consequences show sooner or later.
Sound: The cyberpunk soundtrack is amazing, feels a lot like Blade Runner's, but with a lot of Deus Ex in it. Amazing pieces that suit an amazing game.
