Eternal Threads is a very cool and interesting game that is all about saving six people from a house fire. It is the way that you go about this that makes this such an intriguing game and if you like puzzle solving and a damn good mystery, this is a game that is going to be just perfect for you. Even though as I write this the game is not yet released. I am so excited about this and think that it looks so cool, I really wanted to talk to you guys about this.

This Is Not Their Fate

The story of Eternal Fate has a group of six people dying in a housefire. The thing is, they were not supposed to die! Your job is to be sent back in time to the year 2015 to try and prevent these people from dying. It is such a cool concept for a story and any video game, movie, book or TV show that deals with time manipulation is always going to appeal to me.

Low Level Interference

The twist here in Eternal Fate is that you cannot just tell people what is going to happen. You can interact with them and objects in the house, but you cannot directly tell them what is going to happen. You have to manipulate certain situations that will ultimately lead to each of the six people surviving their tragic death. It is a very cool concept and as soon as I heard about it, it got my wheels spinning big time for the possibilities of what I could do.

Seven Days

You have seven days to explore this timeline and you can go back and forward, changing things, manipulating things, and so on to see how it will affect each person. Jumping back and forward is kind of like a puzzle as you try and figure out the series of things you need to do in order to make sure that each of the six people survives. What is really cool is that there are different outcomes. You can just kind of “do it” and make it so that everyone survives or you can go that extra step, put in the extra work, and try to make it so that people do not just survive, but you actually make it so the best outcome for each person is achieved.

Smoke Filled Memories

Eternal Fate is a game that is played from the first-person and it really does look great. Your base of operations is actually the house where these people died and what is really neat is that you watch the events fold out in a kind of “ghostly” way and the place still has all the fire and smoke damage which is a constant reminder of the terrible death that you are trying to save these people from.

I really could not be any more intrigued by what Eternal Fate is offering. This is the kind of game that just appeals to me on every single level. I love the idea of solving this mystery of saving these six people. However, I am also very excited to get into the actual reasons for needing to save them, what started the fire and a whole bunch of other things that I am sure will pop up as I progress through the game. If you love a good mystery, make sure you keep a close eye on this game.

Pros:

I love the idea of having to manipulate time
You are free to go about saving the six people any way that you want
You can move back and forward through time to see how your interference changes things
The first-person perspective makes things much more immersive

Cons:

While I am very excited about this game, I get that this kind of thing is not for everyone
As I write this it is March 2022, but despite being listed as “Q1 2022” we still do not have a release date
