Garden Paws

Are you after a cute rural life simulator, where you play as an adorable anthropomorphic plush with the ability to live life to the fullest on your farm in the small town of Florens. Garden Paws by Bitten Toast Games is a delightful romp through an idyllic world of cuddly creatures and small town bureaucracy.

Gameplay

Animal Crossing: New Horrizons is the first game that immediately comes to mind when trying to compare this title to another. There is a nice amount of customization for the town, you spend a lot of time running around and collecting items in order to improve the town’s amenities, creating new houses and generally having a great time.

Given that it is a 3D game, there is much greater gameplay diversity than Animal Crossing. The controls are nicer and you have a much easier time locating items as general movement is pleasant and easy to control.

There’s a lot to do here, you can tame animals, start a business, fishing and explore with friends; a great deal of gameplay diversity that really adds to play value. This applies to various things, including the animals you play as, meaning if you play as a creature that can fly, you do so.

Character Customization

While character customization is not as extensive as other role-playing games, there are a few features that make can make the experience quite unique. To being with, there are ten different species to choose from, namely Bird, Fox, Badger, Dragon, Chipmunk, Horse, Dog, Bear, Cat or Bunny. Once you’ve decided on your ideal species, you can choose from six different fur, scale or feather patterns, referred to as skins, which also affect the colour of your critter avatar. This does a great job of making you feel more like a member of the community instead of some freaking outsider that doesn’t look like anything else that exists.

Yet the customization doesn’t stop there, as you offered and are able to find all sorts of clothing items and accessories by simply playing the game.

Seasonal Festivities and Multiplayer Mode

The creators of this game pulled a genius move and made it multiplayer, with the festive seasons that come and go, in game versions of Christmas and Halloween, the player can now enjoy them with all their friends who also play the game.

This is an important thing that a lot of gaming companies seem to forget about; make a good game that can be played and enjoyed on its own and then introduce other players in multiplayer and watch the money roll in. These guys pulled it off perfectly.
