Gameplay

As we mentioned above, Green Hell VR is truly one of the most genuine survival experiences out there, and the fact that it’s done through virtual reality only brings the game to life further than ever before. Your character, Jake Higgins, is dropped within the hellish landscape of the Amazon forest with nothing but a backpack, smartwatch, survival guide and his wits. While the ‘Green Hell’ is unmistakably beautiful from a glance, surviving alone within it is something else entirely. This is first and foremost a survival game, sharing some similarities to other survival based games such as ARK: Survival Evolved. The game follows a light narrative which begins to slowly reveal your characters past and how he ended up in such dire straits, all the while trying to dodge the blood thirsty predators of the jungle who are forever watching.

Game Aspects & Features

While the game itself sounds pretty simple to comprehend, there’s much more within this world which keeps you well satisfied. Survive by yourself in the jungle with nearly nothing to help you? Yeah, very simple. But where the game seems basic is what makes it so great. The developers have created a truly authentic world of survival where players see firsthand what it truly means to battle with the elements. Wild animals are forever lurking in the shadows, but you must also focus your time and energy on crafting weapons, building adequate shelter, fighting off disease and illness.

The basics of life become the necessities quickly. Finding drinking water and food which won’t poison you only heighten the stakes. Healing wounds and fighting off mental fatigue and illness are also important aspects to your survival if you wish to ever see another humans face again.
