Mr. TomatoS

I was so captivated by Mr. TomatoS that after playing all I could in the free version, I ended up paying to get the plus version so I could see all the endings and other weird stuff that this game had going on. This is designed to be like one of those old flash games that were popular in the day. The thing about this game is that as I am describing it I know that I cannot do justice to how fun and strange this experience is. It is the kind of game that you truly do have to just play for yourself to get an idea of why so many people have had fun playing this.

A Very Hungry Tomato

The point of Mr. TomatoS is that we have this rather strange creature who is a sentient tomato, but there is more going on here than you first realize. We need to keep him happy so that he does not get angry and want to eat our soul and the way that we do that is by feeding him and pretty much doing what he wants. I know that this is a very bizarre concept, but it works really well. You just get sucked into this and as you are playing it you have no idea why you are, but you simply cannot stop.

Feed Me

Mr. TomatoS is a very simple game to play. You start off with a selection of food items on the bottom of the screen, a blender on the right, and your usable items on the left. He will ask for something like French fries for example and you then need to drag them over to him so that he can eat them. You need to score points by making him happy, you give him the wrong thing and you are going to make him angry. If you make him too angry, he turns demonic and starts eating body parts until you make him happy again.

One Meal At A Time

This is not a very long game, but Mr. TomatoS does get quite difficult. The way it changes the gameplay up is fun. At first, the things he asks for are all at the bottom of the screen, but other times he will ask for something that is not there. It is up to you to take two items, put them in the blender so you can make what it is he is asking for. You also have to be careful and make sure you do not mess up or you will not have enough ingredients. You can buy stuff from the shop at the end of rounds. These are helpful things like a flashlight that you can use when the lights go out. It sounds so simple, but it is quite challenging as eventually the food items are hidden and you have to guess.

Did You Use Microsoft Paint?

As I said in the intro, Mr. TomatoS is designed to look like one of those old flash games that were big around a decade or so ago. The game looks like it was put together in something like Mario Paint and I got such a huge kick out of that. He looks kind of chill, but when he gets angry, it is kind of creepy. Oh, this game also has voice acting as he will ask for the food he likes and say weird stuff when he is demonic. This is 100 percent a game that you need to play with the sound up.

I had a great time with this and I am very happy that I put my money where my mouth is and purchased the full version of Mr. TomatoS. This is such a weird game, but I love how it just embraces and rolls with its weirdness. It is honestly a really fun and challenging game and I highly recommend that you check it out if you are in the mood for something strange, trust me, games do not get much stranger than this!

Pros:

  • Mr. TomatoS is one crazy and sometimes creepy tomato
  • I got a huge kick out of the unashamed weirdness of this game
  • It is awesome the first time he turns demonic
  • This is a very addictive game

Cons:

  • It may be too weird for some people
  • Once you beat the game, there is not really a reason to go back
