My Friend Pedro

There are not many games that manage to be as cool and badass as My Friend Pedro here. I have played some over the top and crazy games before, but this one here is taking it to a whole new level. If you enjoy over the top shooters, you are going to have a truly incredibly good time with this game here.

Hey It’s A Talking Banana

My Friend Pedro does have a story, but it is very, very weird. Basically, you wake up in a butcher shop and your buddy Pedro is telling you to go on a crazy rampage. What makes this extra weird is the fact that Pedro is a talking banana! The game does not have much more in terms of its story, but this is a game where the story is not important. The game does try a bit hard with the humor, but it is not bad.

Kill How You Wanna Kill

So, the idea of My Friend Pedro is that you need to get to the end of the section in the most badass way you can. You need to kill anyone in your way and the game leaves it to you to figure out the most awesome way to do this. For example, in a kitchen, you can shoot bullets of a frying pan, blast a knife into someone and then jump out of the window. You can zoom along on a skateboard shotgun blasting, before heading into bullet time to do an epic jump and shooting someone in the back. It really does make you think out of the box when it comes to taking people down. There is a nice variety to the sections of the game ranging from a kitchen, a sewer, and even a racing section.

High Score Baby!

I found that I never really failed a section in My Friend Pedro. However, I always wanted to go back and replay levels. The reason for this is that you get a score multiplier as you go. This is very addictive and something that when I got to the end of a level, I would figure out a way I could have kept it going just a tad longer. The game is very fun and as a result, the campaign just zooms by. It took me about five hours to get through. However, I have gone back and played every level multiple times. The game keeps things interesting by introducing new things such as weapons and mechanics as the game goes. This means you feel like you are always progressing and that there could be something new to come.

I really cannot praise My Friend Pedro highly enough. Sure, the game looks rather basic and has weird animations, but that to me is part of the charm. It in some ways feels like a 2D version of the game Super Hot. If you want an addictive and fun shooter experience, you have to check this one out.
