Pac-Man World Re-Pac

Classic games have stood the test of time for a reason. They provide charismatic characters, thrilling adventures, or have some other spark that keeps us going back years or even decades later. Pac-Man World Re-Pac takes advantage of our love of this beloved, iconic character, and gives us another chance to play a favorite game.

As you can imagine from the title, Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a revamp of the original Pac-Man World. The developers have taken the same great game but revamped it so players have a better experience. If you loved Pac-Man World, it’s time to get excited about this upcoming game.

Improved Graphics

The developers Bandai Namco are clearly proud of the changes they made to the graphics. Their intro to Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a comparison of old graphics to new. In the new graphics, we clearly see the backgrounds are much more detailed.

As an example, in one scene a temple path is a straight brown path with very little texture, and in the comparison shot the pathway looks like cobblestone, has sunken areas, and other details. The difference between the original Pac-Man World and Pac-Man World Re-Pac is incredible.

Additionally, Bandai Namco has fixed some UI issues. These mainly include making it easier to access your items in game, and preventing your character from falling off certain edges in the game.

3 Different Game Modes

Pac-Man World Re-Pac will offer 3 different game modes. These include Quest mode, Maze mode, and finally the original mode. The original mode can only be unlocked through playing the other modes through, which helps give you another reason to get through the content.

No butt bounce

Although the game is improved in many ways, there are a few small differences that aren’t necessarily for the better. In the original game, Pac Man felt like a bouncy ball, and could be bounced around in a realistic manner. In this new version his butt bounce isn’t there, the flutter jump is delayed, and there are a few other odd details like not opening his mouth to consume pac dots. These are small issues, but they may have a bigger impact on the game if you’re expecting it to play exactly like the original.

With slowed down flutter jumps and different movement, it can sometimes disrupt the fast flow of the game.

Original soundtrack

While many things are changing for the better with this updated version of an old game, the soundtrack is the same catchy music we’re all familiar with.
