Project Gotham Racing 4

Project Gotham Racing 4 was developed by Bizarre Creations on October 2, 2007. Project Gotham Racing 4 is a racing game that was exclusively released for the Xbox 360 and featured in many exciting new concepts for racing fans. To this day, it is consistently ranked amongst one of the best racing games in terms of handling and car selections — especially back in 2007.

Project Gotham Racing 4 places a big focus on their driving mechanics and handling. Something that a lot of racing game fans have consistently been wanting. And they certaintly nailed it. From their drifting, getting air and their clean racing sections, PGR4 made it happen.

For those who have played previous iterations of the Project Gotham Racing series before, you will quickly realize that the basics have not changed much. Keeping the basic fundamentals from prior series and focusing on the drifitng mechanics. PGR4 produces a massive drifting trick game that sent racing game fans crazy when it was released.

Standard Races and Events

What is a racing game without a standard race mode? However, PGR4 doesn’t just come with a standard race. In addition to those races, you will be able to compete in a variety of skill-based racing events. These include cone gates, speed challenges, elimination challenges, and Kudos challenges. Speed challenges require you to put your speedometer to a certain level once you pass a mark. Kudos challenges are tasks that gets you to rack up a lot of kudos while you race to the finish line.

If that does not get you excited about the game, then check this out. In addition to creating an amazing drifitng system with incredible handling, Bizarre Creations (the developers of PGR4) created 3 major additional changes:

• Career Mode- The Career mode for PGR4 is designed the be similar to the racing season.

• Motorcycles- While motorcycles are indeed a lot of fun to ride, it is often not the best choice to add it in with a racing game that is primarily for cars. Otherwise, you would choose to play Mario Kart 64 instead.

• Dynamic Weather System- Very similar to what other simulation games are doing. The weather system provides an added layer of realistic graphics and experience to the players when driving through the terrain. Let’s hope it does not rain.

Pros:

• Great graphics for Xbox 360 (do not expect 4k)
• Good selection of cars to choose from
• Impeccable Handling system (feels like you are driving for real)

Cons:

• Single Player Career mode is too short
• Not that many variety in cars (even though it has quite a bit selection already)
• Camera does shake when you turn corners
