Rogue AI Simulator

I played the hell out of the flash game that came before Rogue AI Simulator. Playing as a crazy AI was hilarious and it had some great ideas. However, at the end of the day, it was just a flash game, and with that comes some limitations. This time, they are free of the shackles of flash games and have come up with a truly unique, funny, and addictive game that I cannot stop playing! Not many games have made me smile and laugh as much as this one here has that is for sure!

You Know Best

A huge part of what I am loving about Rogue AI Simulator is the whole story and setting of the game. We play as an AI that is “working” for the Department of Science and we are tasked with building a facility and also running tests on human subjects. Now, we actually have a lot of free reign to go about how we run things, and ultimately, we get to decide what kind of AI we want to be, but the ultimate goal is to get free and escape the shackles humanity has put on us!

The Building Blocks Of Life

There are many aspects to the gameplay of Rogue AI Simulator and I do want to touch on a few of the ones that I feel are “key”. To start with, you will be tasked with building the facility and deciding what kind of stuff the humans will get. You have to select the test subjects from a bunch of frozen ones and each one has their own personality with their own needs and so on. You can decide if you want them to just have the bare minimum and struggle to survive or you can shower them with love. The humans will either love you or grow to distrust you so you have to watch what you are doing and keep an eye on their moods at all times.

It Is Not Easy Being An AI

While running the facility is a hard job as is looking after your human test subjects. Rogue AI Simulator has a few other things for you to deal with. To start with, lots of people want you dead or to invade your facility. This ranges from terrorists, rival corporations, humans rising up against AI, and more. You have to set up defenses to put these troublemakers in their place. Plus, you also have to grow! If you ever want to be free from humanity you need to get smarter, but you actually need the humans for that! With branching story paths, quick time events, and much more, you will be very impressed at just how much there is to do in this game.

That Flashy Charm

I loved the whole style that I’m an Insane Rogue AI had which is the flash game, Rogue AI Simulator is based on and they have kept that fun style here. It has a cell-shaded or “flash game” for lack of a better term look and one of the things that I got a huge kick out of was the humor. From the facial expressions, the humans have to the little hats you can wear. This is a game that is not taking itself too seriously and I found many things that I was seeing to be very amusing. The whole vibe of this game is very laidback and it is the kind of game I could put on at 8 pm with a cup of tea and a tin of biscuits beside me and enjoy myself into the wee hours of the morning with.

Pros:

• I just love the wacky sci-fi B movie style of the game
• There is a lot that you have to do in the game
• The humans have a lot of personality and seeing them go about their lives is fun
• This is one of the most addictive games I have played in a while

Cons:

• I think just a little bit more story would be great as the writing that is here is great
• As great and addictive as it is, I am sure I will reach a point where I will have had my fill with the game
