Tank Factory Simulator

What an awesome idea for a game Tank Factory Simulator is! Mixing factory building and automation, life sim, and even war with the games theming, it is a truly awesome, fun, and addictive experience that I can see being on a few people's game of the year list. As I write this, the game is not yet fully out, but I have been keeping a really close eye on this and I can see myself losing tons of hours to this game and getting yelled at by my wife for still playing this into the early hours of the morning!

The War Effort

The story of Tank Factory Simulator is that we have been put in charge of a factory that develops and builds tanks. The issue is, this factory is pretty run down and it is up to us to get it back up to scratch. The game is set in Russia and while we of course want to assist the World War II war effort, we also have to make sure that the tanks we make are the best they can be, we have the right people working for us, and also, that our homelife is not left in tatters because we are spending all our time at work!

Tank, Tank, Tank!

If you get that reference, you are a fellow Wii U enthusiast and I salute you! Anyway, Tank Factory Simulator as the title suggests has you needing to build tanks. The way that this works is that you have a bunch of parts at the start of the game you can make use of and these are what you need to use to build a good tank. There is a research tree and better parts that you can buy and there is a bit of trial and error experimentation that you can play around with as you find what parts make for a great tank that can get the job done on the battlefield, but also make you a nice big profit.

Working For The Man

Of course, to build these war machines, Tank Factory Simulator requires that you hire a workforce, not just a workforce, but the right workforce. You need to hire engineers who can design these tanks for you and have the smarts to help you move things forward so that you are always building bigger and better tanks. However, you also need to hire a labor force who are going to be the ones actually building and assembling your tanks. It is a delicate balancing act to make sure your people are happy and working hard to ensure your tank factory grows as it should.

Go Home And Be A Family Man

An interesting twist to the gameplay in Tank Factory Simulator is that you also have a home life. You are able to go back home and be with your family in your own little home. This is a neat touch and while you can get your family gifts and rest at home. This aspect of the game also ties into your workforce as you can get gifts for them as well. I must admit I never in a million years expected there to be this kind of social element to the gameplay. The thing is, they have not tacked this on, it is something that is important to helping your tank factory grow.

Pros:

• This is one of the more interesting factory building games
• The World War II setting is badass
• I liked the social element of the game
• Hiring the right staff is a huge part of the game

Cons:

• You do have to be into factory building games
• I do wonder if there will be a lot of grinding to get the better stuff
