Together Again

When I read the description of Together Again, I thought that it sounded pretty damn dark, but the game despite having a dark premise can be one that is quite lovely actually. Well, lovely in a lewd way, but you get what I mean. This is a game that is pretty short, even with the multiple endings, you can see all that the game has to offer in just a few sittings, but I am actually looking at that as a positive if I am being honest with you. Far too many lewd games demand way too much of your time these days.

Praise Or Punish?

The premise of the story is that you come across this cute, but sad girl and she is so sad that she is willing to take her own life! I know that makes Together Again sound super dark and I guess depending on the route that you go down it may be. However, I found that I wanted to more help her and do the whole falling in love thing rather than just playing it to make her my sexual plaything… which I did. The different routes were interesting, even if the way she acts in some of them does feel a tad off in regards to the tone of the route you are on.

Watching A Movie

I really do love the artwork of Together Again. The game has this kind of anime movie like quality to it and I really like how there is animation, not just in the lewd scenes, but in the general game too. It is not a ton of animation, but the way the screen will move and pan in and out does a great deal to add to the presentation. There are plenty of lewd scenes to get to and these are dished out at a very fair rate. The fact she is really cute was something that I appreciated and the lewd content that is here is great!

Playing By Or With Yourself?

I would describe the gameplay of Together Again as a lewd trainer style game. You can go down different routes. You can do the whole love thing which was the one that I liked best, the “slut” thing where you turn her into your own sexual plaything and there is a princess route where you basically worship her. That was the only route that felt off to me not because I did not want to treat her like a princess, but because of the way she acted, it did not feel like it fit in with what I was doing for and with her. There are choices to be made and stats to be ground, but you can skip all this if you want as there is an auto mode that lets you just basically experience the story.

• The love route really connected
• The game looks great
• Even the sound design is very impressive

• Some of her reactions did not fit the route I was on
• The game is over pretty quickly

Ever since Fifty Shades of Grey entered the cultural Zeitgeist, more people than ever are aware of what BDSM is. Firstly, it’s important to say that this game is still in development and isn’t the finished article. However, what we will say is that considering the relatively short time that PinkTea games have spent working on this title, it looks and plays excellently. The visuals of this game are striking to say the least. The game decides to go with an cute anime style. However, this is in direct contrast to the core material of this game, including the rather dark and dingy settings which marries together to provide a very interesting and immersive visual display.

Then with regards to the story. This game makes use of some very dark and challenging themes, including the likes of suicide. This may be a turnoff to some. However, the game handles this in a real and honest way, making you connect with the characters. Overall, we think this decision was a good one and does add to the effect the game has on the player. As we said, it will alienate and upset some and this can be a warning to those of you who this might affect. However, the writing and the sensitive handling of the content allow this game to thrive.

Then lastly, we have the gameplay. As far as gameplay goes, there isn’t that much to speak of. It’s a pretty standard visual novel format with a number of activities and choices to make. However, the interactivity of this game is slim to none we are afraid. So, if story isn’t your thing and you want a more hands on experience, you won’t find that here.

The Verdict

Overall, Together Again tells a very gritty and interesting story that is well worth investing your time in. Plus, the visuals are excellently handled allowing for a very immersive experience. The game is definitely aimed at a BDSM loving player, so more vanilla players might not take to this one right away. Plus, there aren’t any unique gameplay mechanics to speak of, making this a pretty conventional plot driven experience.
