City of Broken Dreamers is a nice erotic game. It is similar to games like Deprived Awakening and Dreams of Desire.

Story

You play as Jake, a ghost mercenary in the futuristic, cyberpunk city of Los Angeles. Jake accepted a contract which leads him to an interesting quest while meeting various lovely ladies. The story moves back and forth, from the past to the future.

The story is the star of this game. It is really good and engaging. It’s better than the storyline of most erotic sex games. It even matches or betters some AAA games. Each chapter ends with a cliffhanger that makes you look forwards to playing the next chapter.

Your actions matter as they lead you to varying storylines. You’ll want to play the game again to experience another story path. The game also has a glossary that helps you understand more about the game and its characters.

Gameplay

The game is majorly a storyboard episodic type of game. It is just like a visual novel equivalent of Cyberpunk 2077. You mostly scroll through the boards and the animations while selecting story choices. You simply have to follow the text and make the right choices.
The graphics and animation look good and gorgeous. The cyberpunk setting of the game is well depicted and animated. The neon lighting looked good and the game’s take of 2042 Los Angeles is great. The soundtrack is also good and well selected.

There are a lot of girls in the game with each girl having a unique personality. The sexual scenes do a nice job of complementing the story. The sex scenes are great and come with enough variations. They range from softcore to hardcore scenes with different sexual positions. The sex takes a backseat to the story. You might not experience all the sex scenes initially as some game choices will prevent you from experiencing some sexual scenes.

The Gallery mode allows you to replay scenes from the story.

You’ll enjoy the game to the extent that you’ll find yourself wanting more. Everything complements each other nicely. The gameplay, music, sound effects, user interface, animation, sex scenes, and every other aspect of the game are so perfect. You might even find yourself skipping some sex scenes just to go further with the story. It’s hard to find something to dislike in this game. It is a masterpiece.

The game is yet to be completed. More story chapters are being developed for the game. The facial animations consistently get better with each update. Updates also come with new music tracks.

I am going out on a limb here and saying that City Of Broken Dreamers is one of the greatest lewd visual novels that I have ever played! I had a feeling after I saw the trailer for this that it would certainly be “my cup of tea” However, I was completely blown away by this and found it to be a thrilling erotic film noir kind of story that had compelling characters, amazing art, and a badass soundtrack as well.

LA Of The Future

The setting of City Of Broken Dreamers is almost like a character in itself! The game takes place in LA in the somewhat near future year of 2042. This LA is a very corrupt and dangerous kind of place. Big corporate executives rule the cities and the police and politicians pretty much answer to them. In the city, there is a young woman who is about to end up right in the middle of a power struggle that could cause utter chaos and that is where we come in.

The Mercenary Ghost!

In City Of Broken Dreamers, we play as a character that is referred to as a ghost. A ghost in this world is an elite level mercenary that is tasked with taking on the most high profile and dangerous jobs and this mysterious girl is on our to do list! We end up in the middle of a conflict and have to ultimately decide which side of the conflict we are going to side with. This is truly fantastic and riveting stuff and I found myself completely captivated by it all.

Cyberpunk Noir

Visually, City Of Broken Dreamers is one of the most appealing lewd visual novels that I have ever played. The game has this film noir almost cyberpunk lite kind of vibe going on and I love it. It is kind of like a future version of LA that you would see in an 80s movie. The lewd content here is truly incredible, it is all animated and the character renders are fantastic. There is a lot of lewd content here too and it all ties into the gameplay which made it even more appealing to me.

Choose Your Own Adventure

You know what you are getting with a game like City Of Broken Dreamers as most lewd visual novels have the same kind of gameplay to them This one has you read the story and then make various choices. The thing is, the choices here always feel like they matter, there is never a game over because you picked the wrong choice, and the story will just flow accordingly. It is very well done and I liked how it even offered choices during the sex scenes as well. This is a lewd visual novel that keeps the player/reader completely engaged!
