Train Sim World 3

Train Sim World 3 is yet another evolution of realistic locomotive sims designed for Steam. This time, developers have gone back to the basics, stripped down the game to the code, and did some deep fixes that were long overdue. Not only has the game had core changes made to it from the code up, but many of the complaints players have had about previous versions of the game have been fixed in Train Sim World 3. Although Train Sim World 3 has not been released yet, the expectation is that this one will be more bug free than ever before.

New Weather Simulation

One of the most exciting parts of this game is the addition of weather to the game. Snow, rain, clouds, and even extreme weather are now part of the game and will have an effect on navigating your route. This major new addition is extremely beautiful and really adds to the game.

On top of standard weather extremes, there will also be fall weather such as falling leaves—a real problem for engineers that requires a little more caution.

New routes

In addition to the new weather, Train Sim World 3 is adding three new routes to the game. This will include Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel – Würzburg, a 115 mile route, Southeastern High-Speed Extended (London – Ashford & Faversham) which is an old route that has been extended, and Cajon Pass.
If you already have Train Sim World 2, all of your original content can be moved over to Train Sim World 3 for free with the purchase of any Train Sim World 3 bundle.

New Training Centre

One key problem the developers have been working on for some time is a tutorial that really works. Most engineers spend years learning the craft and running just one engine—how do you stay realistic and teach this same thing to players?

The addition of a new training centre is aimed to do just that. Players can take as much time as they need or want in this centre learning the ins and outs of different trains.

Concerns over Train Sim World 2

Many players have expressed their concern over Dovetail games bringing out a new version of the game so soon after the last one. Train Sim World 2 still isn’t complete, with their road map still having much to go on. Train Sim World 3 could have very well been an update to the previous game without being excessive. It remains to be seen whether there will be enough content in this new version of the game to attract old, loyal players.
