World Tour Soccer 2006
World Tour Soccer 2006 brings a number of new concepts and a mess of features to this year's release. I would love to say that all of them have been implemented flawlessly and create an experience that's highly unique and exciting, but as you might guess that's not the case. There are numerous gameplay issues and although loaded with features, World Tour Soccer 2006 stumbles before reaching the goal.
There are a number of features available for World Tour Soccer 2006 such as 935 teams, more than 19,000 actual FIFA players, the ability to use the Eye Toy to capture your own image for a player, and all the regular gameplay modes. World Tour Soccer 2006 starts to fall behind however when you hit the field.
As with most sports games, the AI causes some trouble and that's my main complaint here. It's not completely dysfunctional but there isn't any sense you're playing against an actual soccer team. The controls are also a little loose but it has less of an impact on the game.
Graphically, World Tour Soccer 2006 meets the mark but the commentating is probably the worst I've heard in some time. Basically is repeats the same phrases over and over.
World Tour Soccer 2006 is loaded with a full feature set but fails to deliver solid gameplay. However, you'll be hard pressed to find an outstanding soccer game this year so even with these issues, it may still be a reasonable option. Give it a rent before you buy.
