A Little to the Left: Cupboards & Drawers

A Little to the Left: Cupboards & Drawers is awesome and some of the best DLC that I have had the pleasure to play with this year. Yes, this is DLC, so you will need the base game to enjoy this cupboards & drawers DLC. However, the base game is also awesome and I would wager that anyone who has played and enjoyed that has been looking for more of the same. This is a game that not only I enjoy, but it is a game that my wife will actually play and have fun with as well.

Packing It All In

If I am honest it was the incredible game, Unpacking that got me into stuff like A Little to the Left: Cupboards & Drawers. I played that on a whim on Game Pass one day and ever since, I have had an interest in these “sorting” games where you are tasked with organizing everyday stuff into its rightful place. It is the kind of thing that before I played unpacking, if someone were to explain this “genre” of game to me I would have said it was stupid and wondered how it was fun, but trust me, this is some of the most fun you can have shoving stuff into a drawer!

A Whole Lotta Stuff!

In A Little to the Left: Cupboards & Drawers, we have 25 new puzzles to sink our teeth into. Like the original, the aim of each level is to find the place where each item needs to go. It is the kind of thing that on paper sounds very easy, but there is a real level of complexity here as you try and find the rightful place for each item. As the title of this DLC gives away it is a bunch of cupboards and drawers that will be sorting items into here and with that comes more of a challenge than you may think!

“Puzzles Within Puzzles”

A Little to the Left: Cupboards & Drawers is way more challenging than you may think. How hard can it be to put some stuff into a cupboard or a drawer? Well, let me tell you, it can be very challenging. You see, you will have to try and fit everything in and this is easier said than done. Some puzzles will have secret areas that you need to discover which will give you more space to store things. Some items can be placed into a different one, which helps you save space. It is the kind of thing that is just so much fun to do and it can get you into a zen like state and also make you feel like a genius when you figure it all off.

Charming, So Very Charming

Ok, so I am not an artist or anything like that, but A Little to the Left: Cupboards & Drawers is such a lovely and charming looking game. I do not know the term for it, but the color pallet that they have used here has a really soothing and calming effect about it that I love. Each puzzle is based around a different thing, for example, one puzzle may have you sort out a utensil drawer and then another is dealing with a cupboard full of gaming/computer equipment. There is also a hilarious and cute cat petting mini-game that is sure to put a smile on your face.

9

If you played and enjoyed the original, A Little to the Left: Cupboards & Drawers is an absolute no-braining. I have heard some people say that they feel like the five or so bucks asking price is a little high, but I think it is fair for the number of new puzzles you get to enjoy here. If you want a game that is going to make you think, but also calm you and make you feel happy, there are not many that I would recommend over this one here.

Pros:

  • The whole game is just so charming
  • While the game is charming, it can also be very challenging
  • You get 25 fun and tricking new puzzles to solve
  • I liked the new cat petting stuff here

Cons:

  • You will need the base game, but that is not really a con as the base game is awesome
  • Once you have played each level, there is not much in the way of replay value here
