ABRISS - Build to Destroy

Have you ever played a puzzle game that made you wish you could just blow it all up? In ABRISS – build to destroy, that’s exactly what you have to do. This beautifully designed game uses physics to decide what gets destroyed with your creations and allows you to make any number of different items to help in solving each puzzle. The premise of the game is to destroy enemy structures by building your own structures on top of them—and then collapsing them. You’ll need to consider everything from the weight of your structures, to how things will fall when they are destroyed.

Truly Original Concept

With so many games on the market right now, it’s rare to see a game so refreshing and original. While this game does have elements of puzzles and a sci-fi look to it, there’s truly no game that can work as a side-by-side comparison. The game offers Minecraft style crafting, in that you can put together several different items to make a new item. The architecture is based off of surrealism according to the indie developer and makes for a unique setting. The idea of the game is also deceptively simple, but as the game progresses structures get more and more complex in order to successfully collapse a building.

Accessible

It’s worth noting that ABRISS has thoughtfully added a color blindness setting to assist people who want to play that may have issues with the colors. This is an extremely thoughtful option seldom seen in games but should certainly be offered more often.

Plenty of options

During gameplay, there is no end to the options available to you for creating your puzzles. Objects can be rotated and placed at angles. Every time you change something, it will change how the object falls. Once you have created a structure to your satisfaction, it’s time to watch it be destroyed.

Fantastic explosions

Explosions are one of the most satisfying parts of a game that uses them and ABRISS doesn’t hold back. Every time a building collapses, explosions bloom and the structure falls in a realistic manner. You’ll than get a report on how much of the structure you destroyed, and whether the goal was met. You don’t always have to destroy the complete building to pass on—but it does leave you room for perfection if you run out of things to do later.

Currently in Early Release

This game is already very entertaining and wonderful to work with, but it’s important to remember that it is still in early release. You can expect more development as time goes on, and further improvements in the game.

10

Although it is still in early release with lots of room to grow, it’s clear that ABRISS – build to destroy is something special. It’s the right mix of fresh content, a beautiful backdrop, puzzles to keep you busy, and satisfying explosions to make this the hit puzzle game of the year.

  • Original concept
  • Dynamic explosions
  • Free form building options

Cons:
