Assetto Corsa is a next-generation racing simulator developed by KUNOS Simulazioni. With its advanced DirectX 11 graphics engine and attention to detail, the game offers an immersive environment and a highly realistic driving experience. From its lifelike physics engine to its exclusive licensed cars and legendary tracks, Assetto Corsa aims to provide a top-tier racing experience for players. This review will delve into the game's features, gameplay, pros and cons, and compare it to another popular racing game.
Immersive Tracks and Authentic Cars
One of the standout features of Assetto Corsa is its selection of legendary tracks. Utilizing laser scan technology, the game recreates famous circuits like Monza, Silverstone, Imola, Spa, and more with an unparalleled level of accuracy. Whether it's the historic reproduction of Monza's Sopraelevata or the iconic twists and turns of Brands Hatch, each track feels authentic and delivers a true-to-life racing experience.
Accompanying these meticulously designed tracks are a wide variety of exclusive cars. Assetto Corsa boasts a physics engine that has been fine-tuned through collaboration with real-world racing drivers and teams. This collaboration has resulted in a tactile and realistic driving experience. The game features officially licensed vehicles from renowned manufacturers such as Abarth, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and many others. Whether you prefer the power of a Ferrari or the precision of a Porsche, Assetto Corsa offers a diverse selection of cars to suit every racing enthusiast's preference.
Gameplay and Features
Assetto Corsa offers a range of gameplay options to keep players engaged. The game includes a career mode, special events, and challenges to test your skills. Additionally, the fully customizable single-player and multiplayer modes provide flexibility for players to enjoy quick races, custom championships, race weekends with practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and races.
For players looking for unique racing experiences, Assetto Corsa delivers drag races, drift challenges, and more. The game also offers four driving assist profiles—gamer, racer, pro, and a customizable profile—making it accessible to players of different skill levels. Advanced setup options and telemetry allow for in-depth data analysis, catering to the needs of simracers seeking precise tuning.
When comparing Assetto Corsa to other racing simulators, one title that stands out is Project Cars 2. Both games offer a realistic driving experience, detailed graphics, and a wide selection of cars and tracks. However, Assetto Corsa excels in terms of physics and handling, providing an even more immersive and authentic feel behind the wheel. While Project Cars 2 boasts a larger variety of racing disciplines, Assetto Corsa's focus on precision and realism sets it apart, particularly for motorsport enthusiasts looking for a highly accurate driving experience.
Assetto Corsa is a standout racing simulator that offers a next-level driving experience. Its advanced physics engine, lifelike graphics, and accurately recreated tracks make for an immersive and authentic gameplay environment. The game's selection of licensed cars and the option for customization provide players with a wide range of choices to suit their preferences.
Although the career mode could be more extensive, the game's strengths overshadow this minor drawback. With its focus on precision and realism, Assetto Corsa is a must-play for racing enthusiasts seeking the most authentic driving experience.

The gameplay of this title is as you would expect as its driving simulator after all but don’t let that make you think that they are all identical. This game offers a delightful laser focus on what it offers, great driving in a beautiful world in stunning cars but with a nice amount of variety. I will admit outright that this game can be hard as it focuses more on the simulation aspect and let’s be honest; being a race car driver is hard. It is, arguably, one of the best racing simulations that I have ever played.
This game finds itself in excellent standing and stands in place alongside long-time industry titans such as Gran Turismo Sport, Project CARS 2, and Forza Motorsport 7. A great amount of tech and attention to detail went into the creation of Assetto, collision detection, rigid body physics, developed in the Unity engine it looks stunning in every shot. Throughout the game I found its user interface to be very easy to work with made the game easier to play due to that, especially in regard to the incredible amount of customisation. On top of all that, the controls are tight and have been perfectly implemented; all the cars have a satisfying weight to them that makes racing an absolute joy.
Although this game may not have a tremendous amount of tracks, with a total of about 45, but something I found to be interesting is Assetto’s blend of real existing tracks and fictional tracks that they created themselves.
What absolutely blew me away about this title was its incredible fluidity when it comes to being able to customize and adjust your vehicle. You are provided with a setup interface and this will allow you to adjust a great many aspects of your vehicle, including but not limited to, tyre compounds and pressures, fuel, suspension settings, alignment settings, ride height, wheel rates and so, so much more.
If you like a game that allows you to customise, you will not only be pleased but you will be downright impressed by what this game offers you. And to top it all off, this game has been given extensive modding support, allowing the community to create additional cars and tracks that comes complete with everything you need to get on it.
If you love a racing simulation and thirst for one that gives you a ridiculous amount of customisation then this is, without a doubt, the game for you. I had a really great time playing it and I know you will too.
- Fantastic customisation options
- Excellently rendered world
- Great car selection
- Excellent handling
- A large amount of the game comes through the modding community
